If you happened to be at this weekend’s MLG San Diego event you may have gotten a magical bonus treat. Watching a few game pros battle it out on a brand new, but still a work-in-progress, Halo 3 multiplayer map called Cold Storage.

It's a remake of the Halo 1 classic map Chill Out.

I'm a huge Halo3 fan but I'm getting tired of paying alot of money for not alot of mappage.

Oh, man, I've missed Chill Out. What a great King of the Hill map. Walk into a room where the Hill just blinked out of and there's blood and bodies wall-to-wall.

Now, GIVE ME PRISONER, BLOOD GULCH, and HANG EM HIGH and we'll have all my H1 faves playable in H3.

Virtually guaranteed to have the same price structure as the previous map packs...800 points for 3 maps. They just haven't announced the other 2 maps yet.

I made the mistake of buying Heroic a few days before they announced the free date. As much as I love to play SWAT, I'm going to continue waiting out the free map-packs.

Yeah, stay tuned. The last map pack apparently was rumored that it would NEVER be free, but that might be a ploy to get people to not wait and buy it. The last time had the Heroic pack became free at around the same time the Legendary pack became available.

This is alright, the map looks pretty good. I don't know why they're remaking this, when classics like Midship, Battle Creek, Blood Gulch, etc, have yet to be remade. I hope they have at least one original map in the next pack, too.
