PSP Scope Adds 3D to Metal Gear Acid 2

In the second of the Tokyo Game Show's strange PSP-related peripheral announcements, Konami has revealed that this item has been produced to work with Metal Gear Acid 2. As you can tell, it's a scope-like device that clips on to the handheld - the intention being that certain scenes in the card-action game will be visible in 3D. The 3D scope comes free with each copy of the game, which hits Japan in December.

sounds like a cool idea, but seems kinda awkward at the some time, and it will hurt your next unless you can keep your psp on the vertical while playing.

Still, it does look more than a little useless but since it does come free and probably isn't necessary to play the game you can't really complain.

That is fucking stupid. Aren't people supposed to look "cool" with PSPs? Isn't that why Sony had some insane fashion show for it? They should have included this attachment in the fashion show. With the models walking around holding this to their faces, looking like idiots and falling off of the runway.

I wonder what having 3D can really add. I mean, 3D is nice, but it's hardly a requirement. We manage to play games, watch movies and look at porn all in 2D. I don't think 3D would really add much of any of those. I hope that it's just an option to use if you want, otherwise it'll just show what you see on the screen in 2D

I am loving MGS Ac!d at the moment, and I'm looking forward to Ac!d 2. I think MGS works better as a turn based strat than an action/stealth :P

The only way I could imagine this working is by breaking the PSP screen in half with one half for each eye. So you'd end up with a screen the size of a cellphone.
