Apparently, December is not the latest date for Xbox360 to launch regionally. The Xbox 360 will launch sometime during the 2006 calendar year for all the patient gamers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, and Colombia.

Someone asks, we deliver: The Xbox 360 will launch sometime during the 2006 calendar year for all the patient gamers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, and Colombia.

We presume that the announcement concerning Australia and New Zealand will include the rest of Oceania—that is, the Pacific isles—but we’ll let you know when we get the official official word from MS. People have heard enough about North America, Europe, and Japan now, haven’t they? Here’s to a truly worldwide launch, even if it does take a year or so to complete (which, in the grand scheme of things, isn’t all that bad… relatively speaking).

What I can't figure out is why everyone keeps posting this all over the web. When they say North America, Europe, and Japan, they mean North America, Europe, and Japan.

Therefore, wouldn't that imply that NO one else is getting the Xbox 360 until 2006?

P.S. - No offense to you Oddmaker for reporting this, I'm just a little confused.

Mexico is in North America. It's not getting the Xbox until 2006.

Australia/New Zealand releases are almost always at the same as the European releases, give or take a week.

I wasn't planning on purchasing the Xbox360 until at least a year after it's release, but I am pretty annoyed at Microsoft for waiting so long to release the damned thing in Australia.

Good point. Thanks for clearing that up.

Xbox penetration in Australia was excellent. It's a shame they are delaying the 360 release here as I think it would be really well received.

This just means everyone else gets to beta-test the console for us Australians. :) Although considering how Australia is usually treated by game publishers, I wouldn't be surprised if they just shipped the dud units over.

Mexico is in Central America.

Name the 7 continents. There is no Central America.

That concludes my geography lesson for the day.

I personally find it insulting the way Australia is treated from companies like MS, Sony and Nintendo. I'm big on supporting the gaming industry, but aparently I'm not that important.

Maybe I should just go back to fucking pirating things. They don't seem to care that much about me, why should I care about them?

Ballistic.

Wonderful, I suppose we'll have to wait 6 months for every game release now as well. Thanks MS, I'll just bend over to get raped in the ass rather then you kick me in the balls first, next time then.

XBOX Pal support (in Aus) has been really good, which is probably part of the reason for the success here. Usually only a month at most delay between US releases, and we sometimes even get them first. Meanwhile gamecube releases, even blockbuster titles, can lag by as much as 6 months behind the US.

Exactly, why Xbox is currently my most used console and has been for a long time, we actually get games made that year for it.

And why this is so damn weird.

That and the term Central America doesn't include Mexico anyways.
