Hear ye hear ye! It is now the 6 month in the year 2008, and with it, brings the coming of a very special event. Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Patriots, years in the making, the end of a legacy, will be arriving for all the world to experience. We here at Playitreviewit (http://www.playitreviewit.com) want to announce a very special event to commemorate the occasion. For the next week, anyone who submits a review to the site will be eligible to win some very cool prizes.
First prize will be a free copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Patriots
Second and third prizes will be an official t-shirt from Playitreviewit.com (http://www.playitreviewit.com) (designed by our very own The Continental)
In order to be eligible, you must submit a full GAME review (any other review types are welcomed, but will not be counted in the contest). Myself, and a panel of judges will select the best reviews of the bunch and award the winners accordingly. We are looking for quality work here, so be sure to give it your all, and don't be afraid to try some new things.
Winners will be notified by email when the contest ends. Deadline is Sunday, June 15th.
Best of luck to everyone!

That's pretty cool...
But uh..how is someone going to review it if they don't already have the game..?
As in, if they already have the game, then what would they do with a free copy?

This doesn't say review MGS4. It says any review submitted.

Believe the contest is for quality reviews of any title, not the prize in question.

There should've been some specified "hopefuls"...Reviews the site doesn't already have someone working on.

"We're the first social community where game reviews are written entirely by you."
*cough* gamefaqs *cough*
That said, I'll be adding a review or two of my own. Is there a limit to the number of reviews one can submit? Any idea of when is the deadline?

Gamefaqs is first and foremost a site for FAQs, that happens to allow you to write reviews as well. That is not the case with Playitreviewit.
I should have specified, and I will edit, that the deadline is Sunday the 15th.

The review showed up in the read it list but you might want to take a look at it, Siraris. I should add that the summary in the "read list" has my text. It's the link to the review itself that goes to a blank "review" page.

Dunno what that was about, but it works now. Great review!

Does it have to be a serious review?
In all honesty if I tried anything I would probably just try to make a joke out of it since I hardly consider myself a game "reviewer".
I'm not saying I have the wit of Yahtzee but I would much rather make a joke of the review than do something serious, since my character is anything but. Would that qualify?

You can write WHATEVER you want. Hell, you may have a great wit, and become the next Yahtzee ;)

So if I submit a review, and I win, Siraris has to send me a PS3 game, prompting me to buy a PS3?
Everyone wins!

I think thats what know as a joke.
On a related note do we know what is going on with the cutscenes in this game yet? a friend of mine can't decide if he should buy it or not based on the reviews because the length of the cut scenes are an issue with him... i've seen that the 90 minutes has been "confirmed as false" or some such but most review seem to say that the cut scenes are huge and make up about half the game... we have any solid facts on this yet?

So after spending more time wrestling with the format than I did writing the thing (I am html-tarded) I finally have my first review "as good as it can be at 5:30 in the morning"... crap.

I have written my two in notepad and Google Docs and just pasted it in. Works a bit easier that way. Only some minor formatting issues after the paste.
I was just thinking about posting a review for FEAR. Now I have some incentive.

multiple 90 minute cutscenes is FALSE. the ending cinematics adds up to about an hour, including credits.
