XBLA This Week: Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 & Frogger 2

One of the most popular arcade shooters is back! Wolf of the Battlefield™: Commando 3 revives the classic Commando franchise with an all-new adventure. Fight solo or recruit two other specialized commandos to defeat the evil tyrant General Ratiev. This frantic war-fest combines precise, old-school gameplay with hi-def 3-D graphics.

Hop along with Frogger® 2 as you travel through more than fifteen challenging levels filled with new enemies and obstacles. Each of the five exotic environments provides a new set of challenges, but beware of the bosses that try to thwart your progress. Compete with up to four friends in two different online multiplayer modes, and hop your way to victory.

I'm interested in WotB: C3, but only for access to the Super SF2 Remix beta access. Is $10 too pricey if WotB is a dud?

Yeah. Of all the enormous classics they have. Parodius, Twinbee, Vampire Killer, etc, etc. They probably take too much work.

Commando 3 is 3 player online co-op. Instant buy for me, especially since it comes with the Street Fighter HD beta.

Frogger 2 is not the old Frogger 2 but a new one with boss fights and actual level design. I don't know if it is something I'm interested in, but it is better than just old Atari shovelware.

I am all over Commando 3 when it hits.

I love the new graphical style, plus online co-op = an easy decision.

Commando 3 is pretty fun. Played some local co-op and online co-op and it works great and is pretty fun. (played on PS3 but I doubt the versions are different)

I may check out WotB, but to be honest, I'd just be buying something for the sake of it until Talisman comes out.

Well goddammit, I just realized this isn't Commandos 3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commandos_3:_Destination_Berlin). Thought it was a remake of the old point and click Eidos games, which I would've totally bought.

Commando 3 is pretty cool actually. I had a lot of fun with it ... it looks cool and plays like an arcade game should/

I hope they have a demo on LIVE. I feel sorry that the PS3 version has not demo to try and you just have to buy it and live with it if you don't like it.

All XBLA games are required to have demos.

Played through the first level this morning and immediately purchased it. Exactly what I would want in a Commando sequel. Looking forward to the 3 player co-op.

I tried the trial now and I had fun with it. Should be a nice co-op game. I don't see why it should get low scores like 5.9 (IGN).

I'm not sure if it was just fond memories, but Mercs at least had a solid style and awesome graphics. This has neither.

I love Capcom, but their original online content is severely lacking (not talking about releasing updates or classics of course, I'm still waiting for a G&G)

I went into this determined to like it after the reviews I had read, but there was very little there to enjoy. It's pretty hard to go wrong with the whole 2 stick shooter, but I thought even the demos for the Assault Heroes games were much better than what was offered here.

Co-op it is a blast and I believe that is how it is meant to be played. Granted, it is not as good as the top tier multiplayer XBLA games like Small Arms, N+, and Bomberman (all games my friends and I have spent ALOT of time playing), but it is a fun way to spend a few afternoons.

I really liked Commandos 3, the only big flaw I could see with it was the vehicle control, but otherwise it was pretty sweet.
Frogger 2 on the other hand was probably the worst demo that I have yet played on XBLA, worse than Totemball, Street Trace, Yaris, and Shrek and Roll combined.
The devs of that game should be pretty ashamed of themselves.
