I'm still on the fence about MGS. I love the cut scenes, art, story etc, but never found the game play that engaging. I'll probably buy it. But after trying MGS3 for the 3rd time last week and getting bored after 2 hours I'm in doubt again. The gameplay seems stale compared what I'm used to nowadays.

It is all about Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor, I've been waiting for that game for years. Seriously, all other games just get out of the way, here's your GOTY.

Oh, and that Metal Cog game or whatever is 6/12, not 6/13. ;)

Gorvi beat me to it. MGS4 is out on Thursday, not Friday.

Finally, something for my shiny PS3 to play :)

And Bucket List on Blu-Ray! WOO! *I kid*

I am going to see Hulk sometime in the near future. I wouldn't mind seeing The Happening as long as it's more like Unbreakable and less like Lady In The Water.

Saw the word Cog in your post and got excited, thought a steampunk game had slipped under my radar and was now being released.

I'm sad now.

Christ, MGS4. You'll all be prattling on for at least a week.

Jumper worth watching? Reviews are meaningless things afterall.

I haven't heard a single good thing about Jumper. That said, from all accounts, the game is far worse than the movie.

This is why there is Netflix ;)

And I plan to hole myself up with MGS4 and hopefully get a review done relatively quick. There are a few reviews coming up this week with the Penny Arcade game only the first one.

Heh. My goal for the week is to finish off GTA IV so I won't have anything major to distract me from MGS4. I've had my PS3 for a bit over a week now and I've barely touched it because I've been too busy chunking away at GTA!

Ok, "Hulk," let's if adding "Incredible" to your name gives you what it takes to take on the man. Iron man, that is. Not to mention your identical brother borne of Ang Lee. We'll see, Hulk, we'll see.

Or maybe we'll hear the apologists blame Sex and the City and Indiana Jones for stealing movie dollars from it.

Might see Happening, sounds like a good time.

I'm somewhat dismayed that I would even contemplate buying Metal Gear Solid 4 without even owning a PS3 (or having the disposable income to do so)! Now, while I didn't buy a PS3 expressly for playing MGS4, it is the first game that I'm really, REALLY excited to play on the system and the timing of me finding the used PS3 was quite fortuitous.

Well, be ready to turn it off then because the phrase is explained in the game. Well, most everything is explained in the game I guess...heh.

My brother is going to get it without having a PS3, but then again he is a HUGE fan of the series and David fucking Hayter (http://playstation.innovyx.net/v?xJnPHlnEHWHPPnvTTPJT) will be at his local Best Buy to sign the damn thing so that has to be one hell of an incentive.

I've heard some positive things about Incredible Hulk, maybe I'll check that out. I've also heard very bad things about The Happening, so I'm going to avoid that unless I hear some very good things to counter what I've heard so far. After watching Lady in the Water, I don't have a lot of hope for Shyamalan.

If my friend gets an 80gig PS3 for her husband, I just might be getting a copy of MGS. We'll see how that goes. And I thought I remember "la li lu le lo" being explained in MGS2? It was stupid, but it was explained.

Too late, Meryl already says it in one of the trailers. And I think it's La Le Lu Le Lo, but I could be wrong.

Well, be ready to turn it off then because the phrase is explained in the game. Well, most everything is explained in the game I guess...heh.Ah, if it's actually coherent then I'll forgive it. Like I've said before, I'm hoping this is more on par with MGS3 than MGS2, at least in the coherency part of things.

I did like the bits in that MGS4 teaser book that you get for preordering. It lays out a bit of the backstory for the world of MGS4 and that alone will probably go a long way to helping me not scratch my head at the end of things.

Jumper was only good if your looking for mindless action involving teleportation holmes. If you are looking for good story or characters look elsewhere.

and this week is all about Metal Gear for me.

Hmm I donnu about Metal Gear. I did play the first one ages ago on the PC and liked it but I've never played 2 or 3 so I guess I would be totaly lost as far as the story goes or something.

Still its tempting.

I was the same way. Attempted playing numerous times just to quit after less than an hour. When I finally forced myself past a few hours, it easily became the best one.

Ok, MGS 4 is out over here (http://kotaku.com/5014493/want-to-buy-metal-gear-solid-4-head-to-kuwait), and I have a predicament. The store that is selling them is an ass hole, he gets the games before all the other stores so he can name his price, which is like $95 right now, I know the story says $75 but that's not true. He sold GTA 4 for $130 and people bought it! So until all the other stores get it on Friday he wont drop down to $75, which is the usual price for a game here. The guy I usually buy it from is gonna hold me one when he gets it on Friday...but I want the game now...

Help.

Buy it, play it, take it back on Friday telling him it keeps locking up. When he asks if you want another, tell him because the game is awful anyway don't bother, a refund or store credit please.

Unless he just allows returns, you can skip all that nonsense.

If people are gonna be assholes, treat 'em like assholes back.

Anyone picking up Blast Works? I am right in thinking it's the retail upgrade of Tumiki Fighters right? I'm interested to hear impessions if anyone does. Just start a thread when you get it and I'll listen intently.

I vaguely remember hearing it would also include some of Kenta Cho's other games as unlockables, which could be cool having them on the Wii. (Yes I know they are free, it's just the Wii is permanantly attached to the TV, but the PC isn't.)

..as if a millions...er thousands of voices cried out in joy at the long awaited, sincere justification of a gaming system.

It's about time. Looks impressive, and it's about what you'd pay to see a movie in the theater. Only this one you get to press buttons.

I hope it does well.

I've been hearing if you liked Hotel Dusk (how could you not??) then JH isn't as good but it's in the same "old adventure" style that will draw you in. This is one i'm going to pick up...been waiting for it actually...

Sorry, I should have made it clear I was talking about the movie and not the game.

I never played Ultimate Destruction, but I've heard only good things about it. I actually might pick it up after I've seen the movie. If the movie is as good as I hope I will probably want to do some destruction myself.

Apparently Evil himself (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1492000#post1492000) has sanctioned true troll posts by example, so I just thought I'd do my part to make this place a more fun place to be!

I'm actually sick today...

I did get to finish off GTA IV today (yay) but tomorrow is MGS4 day and I'm torn between hoping I feel better, because I do really feel like crap, and hoping I'm sick so I can drop the kids off at the babysitter, snag my copy of MGS4 and just veg all day long.

Sigh.
