Gamespot is reporting (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/09/14/news_6133242.html?) that Square Enix will bring a fourth Final Fantasy title to the Game Boy Advance, Final Fantasy IV.

Nintendo did announce one game today, a portable version of Final Fantasy IV. The game is scheduled for release on December 12 for the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Micro.

The game will be a portable version of the game that was first featured on the SNES in 1991 (known to US gamers as Final Fantasy II), and will feature the music, adventuring, and plot of the original. There will be some additions to the game, such as new areas and new characters with different abilities.

My favorite FF4, Im sold on getting the DS now just to play it with a backlight and not a small screen (I'm looking at you...no, I'm not looking at anything, I hate that phrase. but yeah the micro).

not sure if Im excited excited though, cause Ive played it at least once every 2 years since it was released on snes. (playing on snes emu, snes emu with super sai, psx, emulated psx, emulated psx with high res, etc)

I hope they use better translation than the SNES version. *shudder*

Check out the translation on the PSX version. Way better. You notice the difference in the first few conversations you have. Worlds better than the SNES version.

I wonder if it will be the hard type or the easy type of this game. I played the hard type on the PSX, and it was very difficult for me, I would love to play through it again.
Especially if it was the hard version.

Final Fantasy 3 (assuming you mean the Japanese version) is actually listed as coming to the Nintendo DS.

As for the U.S. version, I think it's obvious they plan to do that sooner or later, they know it's a goldmine.

w00t! FF4j hardtime was my favorite final fantasy (and possibly rpg) of all time. Hopefully this version is closer to that and less like FF2 US, which they gimped to all hell.

There's always the fansubbed rom, which was out forever and more so ago.

Yay for the birth of the class system. To bad it's the only time anyone used the Onion Knight! (that I know of).

Seriously. All Squeenix has to do is release FF6 and Chrono Trigger on the GB/DS and every gamer in the US will collectively wet his/her pants. Then if N can finally release a version of Earthbound (or even the never released in the US Mother 1) I can die a happy man.

Both companies would have my money so fast if they did. The FF6 and Chrono Trigger combo would be portable gaming bliss.

Seconded. All they need do is announce CT for DS, and I'd have a reason to buy the system. Good god, that would functionally destroy my social life. I'd still go out, but I'd be staring down at a screen all the time.

/powers up the Masamune at the grave of CT

Nintendo said they were working on Mother 3 for GBA like over a year ago but they haven't said anything about it since. I really hope it isn't cancelled, again.
