I don't know much about this game. But Rare is making it and it should rock. I hope no one complains about the graphics not being the same level as Gears of War or something. There will always be games that will take a more stylized cartoonish approach and that's fine with meeeee

I am really looking forward to this game, in fact I have it on pre-order. I recently popped in Starfox Adventures and got re-acquianted with it and I forgot how good it looked. I am not a Rare fanboy, in fact other then Starfox, I haven't played any of their games, except for a little Perfect Dark, but I never got used to the controls. But, Rare does seem to put out good stuff and I have high hopes for Kameo. I need a game my son can play, he is nine and I think my wife might actually like Kameo too. I have also pre-ordered PDZ in hopes it will be as addicting as Halo and fun so I can play with 3 other people. We live on a small base and we play often at the community center with a 60inch HD TV and that really is fun. Thanks.

I really hope it keeps the puzzle-solving aspect that was first highlighted in the original GameCube build. The dynamic creature collecting/usage to defeat baddies and reach new areas looked totally cool. What we saw in the 360 trailer didn't convey any of those innovative aspects, just hordes of dumb-looking trolls as far as the eye can see.

I really hope this turns out spectacular.

Rare's other games in the past few years have been shiny turd muffins so I'm not holding my breath.

They also made Grabbed by the Ghoulies. It should have, but it didnt, rock.

Well, at launch we'll get two Rare games: PD0 and Kameo. Then the company will disappear again until 2010 or later.

They also made Grabbed by the Ghoulies. It should have, but it didnt, rock.Did you play GbtG? I didn't mind it that much. The control scheme was a little odd but the plot was fairly funny. Rare is old-school, and they need to modernize in my oppinion, especially in the area of controlls, but their stuff is still solid in the same way that Nintendo stuff is, and GbtG is still better than Luigi's Mansion imo.

Really, I enjoyed Luigi's Mansion alot. So GbtG is like that? I might just try it then, I bet I can get it cheap. Thanks.

Comparing Grabbed by the Ghoulies to Luigi's Mansion really isn't fair. In the same amount of time that it took Rare to make two Xbox games, Nintendo put out dozens of Cube, GBA, and DS games, most of them arguably much better than Ghoulies.

That said, this game looks like teh kiddie!!!11!

Really, I enjoyed Luigi's Mansion alot. So GbtG is like that? I might just try it then, I bet I can get it cheap. Thanks. In a way; they're both quirky little games with old-school mechanics and an amusing style, and they both feel like side projects. GbtG is more of a beat-em-up than Luigi's mansion, but both are room-to-room encounter kind of games.

If you can get it cheap and give it a shot I'd be curious to hear what you think of it.

Mr. Gnome, GbtG came out a year and a month after MS bought Rare, that sounds like a fair comparison to a launch title. Saying that Nintendo who has dozens of teams and licensed developers released 12 games in the year that Rare released one is unfair, and a weak way to try to bolt heightened expectations onto GbtG. Take the game as what it; a quirky little game, and see how you like it rather than going 'well this blows because it's Rare and I expect more, Nintendo released 12 games and a Zelda this year'

I wasn't trying to blast Rare per se (although I have been less than impressed with them since the 64 days). It seemed to me like you were directly comparing Rare to Nintendo, and then choosing one of Nintendo's (arguably) poorest titles this generation. I guess I just misread your post. I'm assuming now that you were directly comparing the two titles because they are similar in concept?

All I have to say is that StarFox Adventures was a tedious horrible game. It just was not fun.

Meh, to each his own. I enjoyed it.

I guess I just misread your post. I'm assuming now that you were directly comparing the two titles because they are similar in concept? They both felt like simple side-games, and both took place in a mansion and had room-by-room gameplay. As I mentioned GbtG was more fun in my opinion because there was more going on and the storyline was funnier. Rare games also do feel like Nintendo games to me, it has the same solid feeling and polish.

I see why you came back with the response you did, so no I wasn't trying to make Nintendo look bad by comparing it to Luigi's mansion, I just think the two games have a similar feel.

Rare has left me less than impressed since it moved into MSs camp. Conker's could have been great...and as graphically impressive as the game was, the camera made the game far less than fun. Plus your character was somewhat sluggish. I never played Conker on the 64, but I found it just ok on the Xbox. I bought GBtG for $9.99. I feel I overpaid.
Becasue of my experience with those two titles, I assure you that I will rent PD0 and Kameo before/if I buy them. From the screenshots of PD0 and Kameo, I must say I'm not impressed. So far I think MS was sold a stinkpot. Rare has yet to show anything that would make me think they were worth the 300 million dollar price tag.

In my opinion they need to update their gameplay, it feels very N64-era.

About the camera in Conker, the controls and the camera were a ton better than on the N64 version where there was only 1 stick and you had to move the camera with the C buttons. Reviewers actually complained that the game was too easy with the better controls; I'd like to smack those people with a news paper.

I enjoyed GbtG a lot and think it's a very fun game. It probably just isn't what most people did expect it to be. "Oh, Rare is finally releasing an XBox game! It must be TEH BLAST!" But if you're in for a simple, polished game (both technically and gameplay wise) with a good sense of humour, you should give it a try.

Other than Conker, GbtG does play well.

Graphically, I'd say the game looks pretty good... especially as it was originally a game for the current generation of systems (GC->Xbox->360). It's nice to see that Rare didn't just sit on their asses and have upgraded the graphics to compete in the next generation. Now the only two things I see it having problems with are fun (fingers crossed... I liked Rare back in the N64 days, but they haven't impressed me since) and whether or not it will actually ever be released (and yes, I know it's supposed to be launch).
