That's pretty great actually. Just as my 360 died, and CoH wasn't really holding my interest. I think I'll go back and play some EQ for a few weeks, see if I still love the Bard class as much as I remember.

You'd have to be crazy to play EQ2 when you have Age of Conan raging on.

:D I enjoyed what I could play of AoC, but I don't really have the cash on hand to upgrade my system to play AoC so I restore to other games to pass the time.

Man I'd love to play AoC.

Too bad the ol' Radeon 9800 Pro just isn't quite up to it.

thanks for this. based on the shit feedback in hearing from people who've played AoC past level 30, i think imma pass.

this is the perfect excuse to fire up my bot army for free and go see what trouble i can get into :)

I am extremely down! I haven't logged in in about 2 years - and the last time i did - it was my old P4 2.6 and my Radeon 9600. Actually really looking forward to seeing this on the new rig! Had some issues the last time i tried to install under Vista though.

Funny thing is that the last time I played I had 1 gig of ram and a Radeon x600 card, now though I'm running a 7600 GT card and 3 gigs of ram and what a difference it has made. Now I can run the game at full settings and it really does look nice.

logged in today. First time since November of 2005!! (has it been that long?).

Immediately proceeded to crank every graphical setting there is, and stare with bewilderment at the fact that Age of Conan actually runs better jacked!

I am totally lost. The character i have is a level 11, and i have no idea what i'm doing. I think i have to restart. Damn brain.
It was actually easier to fall back into the FFXI groove after 18 months off.

I'm curious: if you had a EQ account can you still make an EQ2 account for free?

This also applies to anyone who ever signed up for a trial. I never paid a dime for either game, and now have all the expansions and 2 months for both, heh.

I never really got into either game, but I've been in a MMO mood lately and don't have the cash now for AoC. Enjoying EQ2 so far (level 12). It has some really good low level quests. Hit me up on Xfire if you want to team up or something, as I'm kind of lonely :p (current char is on Antonia Bayle but I wouldn't mind starting a new one)

You'd have to remember your old login information, but if you never signed up for an EQ2 trial (or possibly the eq2 beta) probably not. Can't hurt to check your subscription info (https://account.station.sony.com/authenticated/cam/subscriptionsInfo.action) though.

Started a new character last night, High Elf Warden. I can't get over how many race/class choices there are! I do miss the old Island outpost starting area.

Holy crap.. I might just give it a try. I have an old EQ account somewhere and an EQ 2 account somewhere. I just wonder if I can remember the Login/Pass

Found a good guild in EQ1 and now I'm kinda into it. Never thought I'd finally get addicted to EQ 9 years after its release. Damn you Sony.

Here's hoping corpse runs will tire me.

I just rolled an Inquisitor in EQ2 on the Antonia Bayle server. Last time I played, pre-EoF, I had a Paladin around level 50. I'm digging it so far. If anyone else is on the server, my character's name is Zelius.

Having fun with both but I think it's pretty absurd that EQ2 doesn't have any kind of in-game dungeon map to find teammates.

Edit: I found a mod (http://maps.eq2interface.com) that works really well, but I still shouldn't have to be downloading a mod to do something that should already be in the game.

You can use waypoints to track them, and there are easy to install mods that give you maps.

The above posts generally talk about returning players, but Living Legacy can be for new people as well. I have a few free trials left for anyone who is new to EQ2. It only seems to work with new EQ2 accounts, so if you had a previous 14 day trial or other promotion time it won't work with that account.

It includes the game plus all current expansions, so it can take a long time to download. You should have a reasonably fast connection.

Otherwise it appears to be several weeks worth of free game play time with everything enabled. PM me with your email address if you want to try the game.

I always expect to see your AoC publicity in every mmo thread. :)

Now on topic, i tried to play EQ2 several times along the years, but i was never able to get beyond the character and armor art, it always looked too "plastic".

But seeing this promotional offer, it looks like a very good deal, plus im hearing that Eq2 has one of the most stable communities out there.

Not sure if you you prefer to play on the US servers, or EU. I just ran across this thread that shows where/when to select the server locations:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=423160

It's also a bit confusing since Sony still has the "Play the Fae" trial going as well, which is only for 14 days and doesn't include all the expansions (which Living Legacy includes for free if you sign up for at least a month, saves $30 or so). Make sure you don't get to the "Play the Fae" by accident, it should be a Living Legacy trial.

Got to level 20. It's a fun game, I'd just don't know anyone that plays so its hard to find teams. (Usually) Fun trying new MMOs though :)

(I'm also readdicted to Anarchy Online :p )

I cant select the play with champions trial, only the Fae free trial. I think it might be region locked.

The station downloader only allows to download the above trial, maybe its a bug, as its stated that the downloader is in beta, but im not sure.

Under subscriptions it should say if you are on a non-recurring EQ2 subscription until August 31.

The downloader should not be the Play The Fay one, that is the trial software only, and it only lets you play the 14 day trial.

When I sent the invite (via Sony) it should let you create an account there, and download the full game. The Play The Fae trial is only a small subset of the game.

I just signed up for this with a new account. Here is what I did:

1) On the invite I sent via email, the first step is to go to the Sony page via their link (click "Accept your invitation"). This should take you to the "Living Legacy EQ II Recruitment Campaign" page.

2) At the top left of the page is an option to "Join Free", I used that to create a new account. Answer the questions, it sends an email for verification of your email address. You have to wait for that email and follow the instructions so the account is activated.

3) On the Recruitment page, I clicked the "Get Started Now" button. It asked me to log in on the account I created, then it came to a "Welcome to your Free EverQuest® II Trial" page with a link to the launcher.

I already have EQ2 loaded, so can't test further. But it should recognize your account as fully enabled with all expansions and download accordingly.

Hope that helps. If not, let me know. Also, it does show the status for Kem0sabe as accepted the invitation, so the account should have been activated.

Arise from your grave.

This has been extended, just got an email (exactly the same as the original) saying it's now running from Aug 4th to Sep 30th.

4 months free, not too shabby.

Not only that, but I also had a few older accounts that didn't qualify (they never had EQ2 on them in trial or otherwise) that were reactivated.

I still have 2 more invitations left for the trial (for the full game), good until the end of the month for anyone who has never played EQ2 before. Between my wife and I we have over 30 new people trying the game with these invites.

The new Sony promo page is found here (http://eq2players.station.sony.com/news_archive_content.vm?id=1827&section=News&locale=en_US).
