Major Nelson bring word that the slightly delayed demo of the highly anticipated game, Ninja Gaiden 2, will be available for download on the Xbox 360 Marketplace tomorrow at 0200 PST.
Great news for Ninja Gaiden fans. I have just left a meeting where I was told that the Ninja Gaiden II demo released last week in Japan will be released tomorrow at 0200 PT for the remaining Xbox LIVE regions (except India and Germany.) As usual, I’ll post a reminder when it is available, but since so many folks have nicely asked for an update…here ya go.
Break out your Dragon Swords ninja fans, this is hardcore action gaming at its best.

Keep your demo. I'm going straight to the full game when I get my hands on it.

Of course, I didn't pre-order, so I wouldn't be surprised if I had to wait longer than normal. http://www.mazeguy.net/sad/melodramatic.gif

Exactly. Thanks for lying to us and screwing over the fans.

The Xbox game was something I played for months. I have full confidence that this will be as addictive as the first. :)

I'm pretty sure he means the promises of a demo sometime before now, when anyone who is a fan (like me) is buying the game tomorrow anyway.

I know. :)
I'm the only one here so far who's been pretty vocal about going to the full game without bothering with a demo.

Yeah, this game doesn't need a demo, though I'm hearing conflicting reports: Will it be sold Tuesday or Wednesday? I've been under the impression that it is already in stores.

I agree, buying the game regardless of the demo is a no brainer for me. As with most fans of the series. But I think the demo will help convince a few people on the fence into picking it up.

It had better be in stores.
Thought if it isn't the demo may yet serve some purpose.

The Game Crazy by my house won't have it till Wednesday, but that means calling up Wal-Mart, Target, etc for me. I'll be working 12 hour days/7 days a week for about three weeks starting Wednesday, so I really need it tomarrow to get in any quality time for a while.
Edit: If anyone cares, it turns out the review build used by may sites was not (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1511/Ninja-Gaiden-2/p1) final code after all. They did mention slight frame rate drops a couple times, however.

This demo is worth downloading if you won't be able to get this day one. I played the Japanese demo this morning and based off of that NG2 is everything I hope it would be and more. I mean I enjoyed Devil May Cry 4 but the NG2 demo alone puts it to shame...I am such a Ninja Gaiden fanboy. :D

I don't get why it took so long for the Japanese demo to come over.

Major got his signals mixed...there will be no demo tomorrow.
So this is the edit where I get to feel like an ass. As many of you know, I never usually post information about a demo until it is actually available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Well, with this post I went against that little voice in my head and gave you a heads up. I just received an email that proves I should have listened to that voice. It turns out the demo will NOT be available in Canada and the U.S. (in addition to India and Germany as noted above.) I don’t know when a demo will be available for the other regions, but hopefully it will be by the end of the week (as originally stated.) My apologies. You can be sure that I am going to have a a few conversations with a some people about this.

I don't believe there will be any sort of midnight release for this game anywhere, for those interested. I work at a Wal-Mart, and we always get the games a week or so before they are to be released when they are going to be there on "day one". I haven't seen sight of Ninja Gaiden II, sadly 8-(. Stuff like this is pretty universal, so I expect it to be the same most everywhere (with the exception of stores that are pretty close to distribution centers).

That is extremely lame, and I am now sad...oh well, I have a Japanese account. I'm going to go check that out.

No demo at all for Germany is even more lame. And a Jap or US account doesn't work anymore (worked a year ago, now they check the IP und you'll get the message "that content is not available in your region").
Why not differentiate between xbox live accounts for adults and kids, all problems would be solved...

I just finished playing the demo, and it is excellent.
At least I have the demo to last me for the next couple weeks until the game comes out here in australia.

Umm IMHO there is no chance in hell this game isn't going to rock so I just want the game , screw the demo.
Looking forward to the game. How is Ev Av with shipping out prizes? Anyone ever won anything before?
Those who have played the demo. Did you like it better than DMC, from what you saw?

Has anyone had any luck finding the game today? I called around to the local gamestops and nothing. Best Buy never has stuff in my area, so I guess maybe I am screwed until tomorrow, which happens to be my wedding anniversary, so no NG until the weekend. Sigh.

Yeah, why would we want a demo to be released in the US? It's not like there's any kind of game market here . . .

Take the pacing and oversized weapons of DMC with the "Badass Ninja" instead of emo lead character and lots and lots of gore (NG2 will never see release in Germany anyway, that's for sure)
I'm biased because i'm buying the game anyway but the demo should convince all the people on the fence to shell out the money for the game.
The demo contains the following bits of awesomeness:
Oversized scythe which allows you to pick people up and split them in half.
Weird Ninja Claw style things that basically make you Wolverine on speed.
"Obliteration" blow, a counter/finishing kill that usually involves hacking off body parts.

Here you go (http://www.megaupload.com/jp/?d=NGSB092E).
Burn the "Contents" folder in that zip to a blank DVD-R (make sure you're burning as a data disc and finalize the disc) and then put it into your 360. Then navigate to the Recently Downloaded Games heading under My Games and it should be there.
