Sex and the fucking City. I swear the only good thing to come from such a thing is the strength it allows me to muster to take my own life with a fucking screwdriver to my neck.

Wow. 55 million. For an R rated movie specifically targeting women and/or gay men.
Well done, HBO Films. Well done.

I'm choking on my own rage here.
Any man who saw Sex and the City should be identified by an ankle bracelet so that we can 1) rip on him mercilessly when we see him, and 2) avoid further contact with him.

I believe the specific condition is Manklephilia.
See what you did George Lucas. You took arguably one of the best action adventure heroes of the 1980s and had him lose the number #1 franchise to a bunch of middle aged, cackling, crazy, she bitch-harpies whose barren crotches are as dry as the sahara desert in a sandstorm and who's mugs make me want to dig up Barbaro and put his face on the cover of playboy, in a week. DIE LUCAS. I HATE YOU.
Congrats to Sex and the City.

Because that movie literally sucked the harry balls off of Sarah Jessica Parker. It tanked out ~75% of it's audience after a week and it was all due to his shitty script writing ability.

The real tragedy is this:
1 Sex and the City $55.7/$55.7
10 Forgetting Sarah Marshall $1.0/$60.4
I don't even need to see Sex and the City to know which is the superior film. In fact, I had a date the other day and she asked if Sarah Marshall was still playing, which unfortunately, it wasn't. Plus, she mentioned how much she loved SuperBad. Sounds like a keeper.

I saw it. With the girlfriend.
God help me, but I came THIS CLOSE to getting busted a thousand times drooling at the other hot chicks who went to the same show. I swear, you'll do yourself a favor if you go see it simply to check out the women in the audience. Or, go check out the nearby bars afterwards and you'll see groups of 'girls night out-ers' who just came from the movie ordering Cosmos. Buy a round and reap the rewards.

A month or so ago I would have been adamant that Sex and the City would be a total flop. I mean did the show ever get that high of ratings? And a release in the highly competitive summer season? I started thinking I might be wrong over the past month, with the absolute non-stop promotion of the thing- every channel, every magazine, I guess I underestimated the whole thing.

Well, I couldn't care less if Sex and the City is a movie. And I thought Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a whiny bitch of a movie compared to SuperBad or even Knocked Up. But the real shocker is how badly Speed Racer seems to be sucking ass on that list.

Sex and the City is one of the few things that could drive me to kill. If you stuck me in front of it and forced my eyes open and put it on loop, I reckon I'd be mad third time over. By the fifth, seeing red.

Sorry for your 2.5 hours of torture Zanz! You're a bigger man than me. I let all my lady friends know there was no way I was seeing this film. Luckily, it seems you found ways to deaden the pain. :p

What!?! That movie was hilarious. Admittedly, Mila Kunis made it for me. I agree on Speed Racer. I actually enjoyed the film a lot, even more so than IronMan. Indiana Jones was just a terrible disappointment for me. The Dark Knight can't come soon enough!

Okay, fine, I gotta share my most embarrassing moment of the 'Sex and the City' movie. I can't believe I'm actually gonna put 'spoiler' text in this, but:
So, Sarah Jessica Parker's character gets stood up at the altar by her guy, who's last name is Preston. She's totally depressed, but the other 3 decide to take her to where the already-paid-for planned Honeymoon location at a 5-star resort to have a girl's retreat. After a few days, SJP is coherent enough to go to dinner at the resort, the waiter takes their drink orders, asks which room they're in to put the tab on, she says '3', and the waiter does a quick check of his chart and says 'Thank you, Mrs. Preston,' and turns around and walks off to get their drinks.
The audience gasps in horror. The 3 other girls are aghast, wide-eyed. They are too stunned to say anything.
SJP waits a beat, then says 'That was like taking a bullet.'
I start cracking up laughing. Then I realize I was the only one, and I'm getting evil looks from the hot chicks.

Poor Speed Racer. They totally hosed that one. I would check it out if it wasn't "kiddy-a-tized". Seriously, how many little kids these days watch Speed Racer? We all watched it growing up so they should have catered it to our audience, gave it a little more adult content and theme.

I'm also looking forward to the new Batman, in case anyone wants to question my manhood.

I know he's rich and has big numbers at the box office, but seriously, someone needs to take over script writing for this guy. It's ridiculous how bad his scripts are. Indiana Jones had some parts that had me interested but lots of stupid too

I saw a couple of episodes of the show and had my fill, though the writing on the show itself wasn't terrible, just very formulaic. At any rate, I can almost guarantee the script was more coherent and intelligent than that Transformers' movie that came out last year. So if we are going to judge the the inherit intelligence of the genders based upon our respective stupid Pop-culture, uh, sorry fellas but the ladies win.

Go Iron Man! Not too bad a take for a new franchise; I predict it will stay near the top for a while, too. You know what else I predict? That The Incredible Hulk will have at least as big an opening weekend as Iron Man. Marvel has kicked the marketing into high gear, and whatever you thought of the Ang Lee flick, more people liked it than didn't, in addition to it creating the all important name recognition. I know alot of people who plan on seeing it, and surprisingly quite a few are women (it releases Father's Day weekend as a bonus). I also predict that Wall-E will be one of the highest grossing movies of the summer, easy.

Hulk wont be as big as Iron Man but do you really think it's going to flop? I don't know what the studio is predicting but based on all the money Iron Man has made I would think a large portion of that audience will want to see another Marvel Studios movie.

Hahaha, are you serious? George Lucas prompted them to go see Sex and the City in droves? You do realize how much purchasing power American woman age 20-40 have don't you? Oprah says hello.
I never really got all the hate toward the show. I always thought that the episodes I actually sat down and watched were usually pretty funny. BUT the promotion was very heavy handed. Fortunately I don't listen to much radio or watch many programs that are also marketed toward women so I missed the brunt of it.
My lady and I went to see Iron Man (her choice). Second time around for me, so I got to see Cap's shield and the Bad Ass Mutherfucker himself.
