Ninja Gaiden 2 Impressions - Giveaway

I came home yesterday to find a nice surprise on my doorstep - a brand new copy of Ninja Gaiden 2!

So last night I eagerly tore into the latest of the series fearing for my controller's life. I'll admit, I chose the easier of the two difficulties, and I'm happy to say the easier difficulty is much more approachable much to my controller's relief.

The game is going to be familiar to anyone who's played the previous title(s). There's a few new techniques and lots of new weapons to play with. The ultimate technique has been reworked a bit and you can actually chain them together pretty well. There's also a nice progression of difficulty and moves as you work through the game.

I've gone through 3 levels and 3 boss fights so far, with only one giving me a little bit of difficulty. Perhaps the easier difficulty level is too easy? I guess we'll see in the later levels. As for the camera - yes at times it can be annoying in tight spaces - but it's quickly rectified by using the right trigger to recenter it.

Overall the game is brutal, gorgeous, fast and fluid. Anyone waiting for this game is not going to be disappointed when it hits store shelves on June 3rd.

Quick question, though: how do the backgrounds look? NG1 kinda gave me a RE feel with the backgrounds, as they looked sort of pre-rendered. Are the backgrounds pretty lush this time?

The original xbox game is a classic. Loved it. Especially when I beat Alma with little to no health and my hands got extremely sweaty due to the multiple replays. I threw my controller on that one. People complain about the difficulty, and I admit I was close to giving up. But when it happened, that sweet sweet moment of victory..... money can't buy that feeling. I really felt like a impossible feat was achieved.

Miss that in today's games. :(

I am very excited for this game as are many others. I loved the first game on Xbox and and eagerly awaiting its release.
