I would have put this in the Eve forums, but I think every MMO fan should see this.
Take Gary's Mod + Eve Online, mix in some damn fine voice acting, amazing editing and directorial talent = The Best Damn Game Video Ever (http://www.eve-kill.net/download/Clear_Skies.wmv). Warning, file is 450Mb, but well worth the time to download. If you want, you can download the trailer (http://www.eve-kill.net/download/clearskies_trailer1.mpg) first to see if you want to see the full video.
If you liked the video, and have a Eve account, make sure to leave some feedback for the creator Ian Chrisholm in the Eve Forums (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=783871).

Very cool video. I hope he continues them. He did a really good job with the transitions between Half-Life footage and EVE footage. That and the scenes where you see bits of both.

Just noticed that a recent episode of the Eve Online podcast Warp Drive Active (http://virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=9&ep=38)has a interview in the middle of it with the creator of the Clear Skies video. One of the things brought up from the interview is that he didn't use Gary's Mod, but instead used the HL2 SDK to create the animated characters part of the video.

That was fantastic. Felt kind of like an episode Serenity.
I really want to play Eve Online again now.
It kind of irked me that it was the Half Life 2 characters though, the set-up, animation and lip-synching was amazing but its still Barney talking to a Scottish Dr Breen when all is said and done.

Yes, that was due to the creator not wanting to have to learn how to model/animate/skin anything for the HL2 engine. He just used existing assets and even then it took him 2 years to create the video.
In the Warpdrive Active podcast he indicates he is going to keep using them since they are now like actors in his mind and perminately linked to the characters. But he indicates we shouldn't have to wait two years for the next episode, maybe 6-9 months.

That was great! The references to actual Eve gameplay elements like safespots and armor repping instead of paying for repairs were really nice touches. I hope he continues them.
1400mm Howies for the win ;)
