Return to the twisted world of Tim Burton in The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge. Take Jack Skellington through more than 20 levels of macabre platforming action, as you seek to rid Halloween Town of the scourge of Oogie Boogie once and for all. On the way, visit all of the other Holiday Worlds and use your powers as the cheerful Santa Jack and the frightful Pumpkin King. WorthPlaying (http://www.worthplaying.com) recently had a chance to play with a partial build, here is a snip :
Most of the game's challenge in current form comes from the jumping puzzles, which rely less on jumping than they do on Jack swinging his Soul Robber to grab onto hook-like objects in the background. Jack can jump, but has a truly unusual jumping pattern. Tap the jump button once and he does a simple flip; twice, and he does a longer flip; three times, and he tucks into a tight ball and moves a long way forward; four times, and he lands on his toes and pirouettes across the landscape. His jump is actually far more useful for dodging enemy attacks than it is for getting over gaps and chasms, for which he'll usually rely on the Soul Robber. I just watched the movie for the first time a couple of days ago on my cables' DOD. I immediately finished and went out and bouth the DVD. Good stuff. I'll be checking out Corpse Bride as well.
This game will definitely get a check.
I'm kinda confused by this as it just seems like an odd license to be using given how long it's been since the film was released. I absolutely love the movie, I just don't get why they're making this game now, of all times. Seems awkward. Couple that with the fact that Nightmare doesn't really lend itself that well to this genre (at least I don't think it does) and I have a feeling this isn't going to do well at all.

From what I gathered, it was one of the most popular sections in Kingdon Hearts, but since Square qouldn`t make a game of it, Capcom picked up the license.
Also, believe it or not, but in Japan, Nightmare has quite a big following. There`s all manner of merchandice, toys, stickers, stationary. It wil sell on name and connection to Disney alone.

I imagine it's getting a game now for a couple reasons; It's recently gone through a bit of a "revival", with a massive amount of merchandise being released about a year ago. On top of that, it was present in Kingdom Hearts rather prominently as well.
Basically, it really picked up some steam over the past couple years and somebody thought it'd be a good idea to make a game about it. Will I bother with it? It's doubtful...but still possible. We'll just have to wait and see.

Ooh, snap!
The graphics look amazingly good for a PS2 game - better than some of the next gen stuff I've seen!
Definitely picking it up!
I played it. If you liked Midievil for the PS1 then you will like this.

Well that's just great. I have no want for this game nor any desire to pick it up once it hits shelves, but now I have to thanks to your dropping of the Medievil Bomb
Stupid games not falling within the properly designated budget I've laid aside.

Seems a bit strange to me that it's mostly a fighting game. I'm having trouble translating the persona of Jack from the movie to this new Battle-Jack. Maybe I'm getting old and soft :p
yeah, whateva
