"Sherman, set the wayback machine for 1997..."
Evidently an official add-on for Shadow Warrior was developed but never saw light of day until now. The entire story can be read here (http://www.3drealms.com/news/2005/09/wanton_destruction_for_shadow.html) at 3D Realms site. (http://www.3drealms.com/) The good news is the add-on is free. The bad (?) news is that you'll have to be dig through your collection to see if you still have the original game or snag a copy from Ebay.
Thanks to Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/) for the blast from the past. (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/38600)

Haha Any news that comes out of 3dRealms is quickly followed by a DNF joke. And I love it.
Never played Shadow Warrior... Maybe worth hunting for...

This is why Duke Nukem Forever isn't out (http://www.filerush.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=941#4322). (Yes, the link is safe)

Reading that post made my brain bend around itself, warp into another non-material dimension with triple gravitation fields, then vomit all over itself and implode.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to touch keyboards.
EDIT: 2006 will be the year of DNF.

I loved Shadow Warrior. Is there a Direct 3D/Open GL release?

Those guys totally had a chance for an appropriate pun, but nooooo! They had to be politically correct. (or they forgot about it)

That game cracked me the f**k up. I had a hard time running it, at the time, on my 486/DX 66 with however many MBs of ram.

Anything touched by Sunstorm (the developer who made the add-on) is pure shit, free or not.
Sunstorm was easily one of the most unprofessionally led companies ever. The owner, Tony, was only concerned with making as much money as he could while paying his guys as little as possible. I mean, he had strippers to impress... why waste money on making a game?!?
He would even cut his own team short on gameplay to save money. You worked on this 12 hours? BOOM. You are done, move to the next level whether you are done or not. So his team, that ACTUALLY CARED about making good games, ended up making utter shit due to Tony's "leadership".
This is why they are extinct.

Nice.
I'm also finding it funny that this is the newest product 3DRealms has released since:
Duke Nukem Mobile (06/29/2004) (Machineworks is the developer.)
Duke Nukem Advance (08/12/2002) (Torus Games is the developer.)
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project (05/14/2002) (Sunstorm is the developer.)
Everything else is pre-2000. Sheesh. What do these guys do all day? Goof around at the office and live off their previous earnings? You'd think aside from DNF, they could have developed and released other properties in the meantime.....

Damn that's priceless. I love his replies in the comments:
"George Broussards has been told by the men in black to keep his mouth shut, and so he has, but i can't believe he would not tell his fans about this for all these years, that the goverment have been funding the develoment of this great game."

Oh man, I hate to double-post but this guy is the best...
Tony says "Unfortunately, due to various circumstances Wanton Destruction was never released."
Dude, it wasn't published because it sucked so bad that WIZARD WORKS refused to sell the crap that he would either throw together in a few weeks or steal from people right off of the internet. Wizard Works! It's not like this was GT Interactive... we are talking budgetware refusing to sell this highly questionable shit-in-a-box.
I also gotta point out it's pretty damned funny that Tony, who I hear is trying to break back into games after what seems to be the only failed attempt at porn EVER, had the balls to peek his head out and pawn something off like this when he doesn't even technically own any of it.
I sure hope they didn't pay him for it, or it's going straight to strippers!

tony sleep with your mom or something?

If he had slept with my mom at least he would have done SOMETHING worthwhile.

Well I was gonna re-install this bad boy but it sounds like the add-on is a disaster.
Oh what the hell. Installing now.

Does Shadow Warrior Work on XP? A while back I tried it for a bit and couldn't get any results.

Considering the people who read and comment at EvAv, you'll probably find that Luxo worked at Sunstorm at one point. Or at the very least, has had a run in with Tony here.
Sad part is, how he describes Tony would be kinda unbelievable had I not encountered people exactly like that myself. Some people really are a waste of flesh.

Sweet! I loved playing SW. Also, if anyone likes a good action platformer, they would do well to pick up Duke Nukem: MP. It was a good 3D update to the classic Duke games.

you know i was just browsing through this mom & pop used software shop that has all of these ancient, overpriced games (they actually have apple 2 games for sale) and saw shadow warrior and considered buying it, this just makes it all the more appealing. the packaging for it extolled it's goriness and adult content too... you never see that sort of marketing any more
edit: ok maybe this add on dosen't make it more appealing

Okay im going to say this add on is actually pretty good. Ive so far had some fun with it and i would recommend it to other Shadow warrior fans. After you get used to the fact that the best ninja is changed. You get over it and then the game becomes fiercly hard but still maintaining fun.

"NDA agreement" is fucking priceless. DNF has, in many ways, provided us all more hours of entertainment than World of Warcraft and the original Everquest combined.
