Resident Evil 5 now due out in November?

PSU (http://www.psu.com/) Reports; In March, we posted a rumor on how Resident Evil 5 was expected to hit as early as October (possibly Halloween). This was in support of the rumor that released in April's issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Well, we've received an update from our source stating that Capcom has now pushed the title back to release in November.

We've also been told that Sherry Birkin (the young girl who assisted Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2) will play a role in Resident Evil 5. Since the game takes place 10 years after Resident Evil 2, that puts Birkin at about 22yrs. Old – the perfect age for killing zombies.

I honestly hadn't been expecting this 'til Q1/2 '09, so this could be a very pleseant surprise, if true. This would certainly be my absolute must-have game of the year.

November would be awesome. In Capcom's fiscal report (or something like that) they say to expect RE 5 by the end of the fiscal year, which is March/April.

If this is true, this would be my most anticipated game of the year. GTAIV was my first, but would take back seat to RE5.

I hope it's at least as long as RE4. I spent a LOT of time with that game.

Don't believe a word of it. Why would Capcom want to release the game during the most competitive time of year for game releases? Why not just wait a couple of months to give it that extra polish?
