A note on the Wiccana guild... I'll try to make sure everyone has invite power. I can promote/demote even when folks are offline, so every time I get on I'll try to remember to promote the new folks. This should help everyone get in to the guild rather quickly.

FYI, I had to remake the guild. Got careless, and clicked the 'leave guild' button by accident. There is no confirm dialog when you leave the guild, and since I was the leader it left the guild leaderless. So, I remade the guild as 'Evil Avatar Alliance', though I'll probably just change it back to 'Evil Avatar' once we get everyone from the old guild moved over.

I'll post this here, since it might have been missed in the other thread, but there is also an Evil Avatar guild on Dagoth in case someone doesn't feel like rerolling or has other reasons to be on Dagoth but still want a guild. Just post here with your character name if you want in, or hit me up on the game as my character is Atrius (a Ranger currently at level 25). When I feel like making an alt, I will roll one on Wiccanna, but I feel it is too soon to do that so I am sticking with Dagoth for now.

Oh, the EvAv guild will fall apart, but Wiccana is a fairly busy server full of cool people. I have no doubt that if I keep up with AoC I will be joining another guild, but until then, it's fun with the EvAv guys, and a guild list is easier than a friends list... mostly, as one guy adds you, and everyone can see you.

As I figure maybe 3/4s will leave within 2 months, those that are left roll in with the survivors of another guild and BAM, Guild City.

Well, the idea is still the same, we all try and stick together (those who stay) either try and merge guilds into a bigger whole, or start recruting an army of Heralds to have a litteral army of Evil Avatars.

I can't seem to find anyway to duel or /PVP flag.

But it does have PVP arenas you can get to at any level from the menu.It also apparently has player cities have to be in PVP zones, which like EVE and Anarchary Online are far away from the lower level zones but probably have better loot and gear.

Ideally I'd like to end up with a tight team on a PVP server.

Player cities are built in a PvE zone. PvP has something called Battle Keeps, like cities I think (they have the same layout considering they reuse the city/resource zone).

NPCs will siege you city while it's PvP for keeps.

Well, if it was during the current crop of problems, I don't blame him at all. I just spent two hours trying to save Hortensia. I have "completed" the quest five times, but with all of the lag spikes, it won't register.

Yep, my 2-3 year old rig can take the game close to max settings with those and reflections turned off (if there's no shadows then reflections are kinda silly aren't they :p).

A Necro going all out will reduce me to a slide show though, also certain types of mist (rather rare type so far) will cause a little slowdown.

I semi-solved it. Something was odd after the game installed and it didn't run right at all. I did a reboot and it seems a ton better now.

I'm still disappointed in the graphics. They just aren't anything special. It is almost the same "generic" characters you see in EverQuest II.

I guess I'll keep holding out for something cool to finally come along and replace WoW, but this isn't it.

I really enjoyed Pirates of the Burning Sea, but there is something weird with their 'net code and it is all choppy on my system even though WoW, EVE and Conan don't have the same problem.

Sounds like you just don't enjoy the "style". Age of Conan is easily the most impressive looking MMORPG on the market, technically. It just happens to take a realistic approach to graphical style. Then again, it wouldn't be Conan if they had done it any other way.

For those of you having performance issues set the graphics to high and turn off shadows. On most machines, even low end ones, it increases performance quite a bit and looks better too. It's amazing how much different the game looks just by increasing your view distance. After I set my high rez view distance to 100% things got MUCH smoother.

Orph, we renamed the guild (Alliances are gonna be an actual game mechanic now) and got a big influx of new members. Our Keep and Trading Post are up (even if it is in that bright hell Poitan) with enough mats for the next 3-4 buildings at least, just need gold.

If theres anything we "need", its Tanks and Healers. Thats basically Guardians, Dark Templars and Conquerers for tanks, Tempest of Set and Priest of Mitra for the healers. We've got a huge amount of support classes but few to none of the basics. That being said, our higher level guys have been doing just fine with 2 Heralds of Xotil, 1 Bear Shaman and my Barb tanking. Thats 3 damage dealers and a qseudo healer. It really doesnt matter what you play as long as you enjoy it. We can make due with just about anything.

Why force yourself? Go play WoW or something. If you don't like the base gameplay of AoC, its not going to get any better. If you enjoy the game play but are bothered by the bugs and half finished zones, come back in a few months. No one's going to talk you into playing.

Yep, those goons are just trouble, they travel in packs and usually camp low lvl questing areas. Anyways, i did run into them.. i always run into them.. like every minute. ;)

*sigh* I suppose tank. We've essentially been doing content (well, before they really effed up the way instances scale) with 2 HoX's, a Barb, and a BS. So a tank would be nice.

However, don't play a class you don't want to. I'm thinking I'll focus on an alt pretty heavily. Was almost motivated to get to 70 on Grundir, but then I encountered Atzel... that zone is horrific.

Got home from work and found out they've had the servers down for almost 10 hours?

Wonder what the issue was with server instability. They also appeared to have nerfed a few more classes that didn't need nerfed. Their attempts at PvP balance are really starting to impact the PvE side of things, without fixing the core problems with PvP. A bit ridiculous at this point.

Oh, wow. They really need to drop the two patches a week thing. It's just not enough testing. One patch a week is pushing things for most dev teams.

I just checked and patch is finally downloading. But yea, this game is losing it's appeal rather quickly, and that is too bad cause I really liked parts of it.

The mature theme, interactive combat and graphical fatalities really hooked me. But the downtimes, buggy patches and wild nerf bat swings have me getting a SWG/AO vibe. I really don't think they have a clue as to how they are going to remedy the direction the game is taking. With very little communication to the playerbase I'm finding it to be more likely that I am going to cancel my subscription and just play out whats left of it.

I played UO for years and other than that enjoyed DAOC. WoW was ok but I didn't like the idea that I could storm all the way into enemy territory yet not attack anyone. LOTRO was pretty good but didn't hold on to me.
