As promised THQ has now released a new patch for Relic's 3D RTS Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War.

This update brings your retail game to v1.4 and addresses a few notable balance items, adds persistent bodies and decals, and optimizes performance.

You can grab the Dawn of War v1.4 patch (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=28081) (188mb) over at WorthPlaying

That's a big patch. Does it sync the game with the new expansion (except for the actual content)? That might go some way to explaining the size.

Not quite sure why the patch is this big. They've used a binary patch system in the past, so unless they've added a metric assload of new content, I'm not quite sure of the size.

We've got our feelers out waiting for a full changelog as well, the one they released is cut down.

Maybe adding the new army to online matches whether you buy the expansion or not?

Also, Uber, I know you're all buddy buddy with the Relic guys. Tell me, is the expansions single player any good? Because I really, really loved Dawn of War, but the singleplayer campaign was so asstastic.

Amen. Thats so true. I was very let down by the single player campaign, give me a toolset and I could plot out a better campaign at least focus on the other races a little give me some idea how to play them and stuff you know like starcraft!

i thought this would explain the size? they've brought the game engine in-line with the (presumably totally) new version of the engine they're releasing in the add-on?

EDIT: bodies stay is a good idea. doubt my gfx card could handle it for more than 5 minutes. but, great idea. Fate does this... ;)

Draft:

I've not played it yet, but their focus on this one was a lot on the single player.

2 campaigns (good and evil), 6 missions each. Much more varied mission structure (objectives and what not), should make it better.

Ummmm they did release the toolset. www.relic.com/rdn
