Gamecloud has posted an interview (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=1399) with Big Huge Games' Tim Train, talking about their upcoming fantasy RTS title Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends.
Gamecloud: What can you tell us about the game's graphical and physics features?
Tim Train: Our #1 mandate for this game going in was to take the great gameplay standards from Rise of Nations and add graphics that were every bit as awesome as the gameplay. You won't see anything like this game in 2006--buildings are destroyed slowly and agonizingly as pieces are blown off them, until they ultimately collapse from the onslaught. Hero spells and special abilities spread the carnage around the battlefield, as foot soldiers go flying through the air and larger units crunch them underfoot. Our Novodex physics engine enables a lot of this destruction to go "over the top," particularly when towers collapse on top of each other or units fall off cliffs and bounce down to the ravines below.
