For those aficionados of all things good in music, next week the self titled 1978 album The Cars will be made available for Rock Band.

Rock Band's second complete album will be priced the same as the first -- $1.99 (160 Microsoft points) per track, or $14.99 (1200 Microsoft points) for the whole set -- and will be available on Tuesday, May 27 on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Thursday, May 29 via the PlayStation Store.

This is almost enough to get me to finally buy Rock Band, except that I opted for the Wii just last night. If only I would have known, damn my lack of time traveling capabilities!

I got excited for a moment, as in reading the news story title quickly, I thought we were getting some Gary Numan DLC.

The Cars is okay, too, I guess.

More great DLC for Rock Band...I love this album, now all I need is to own Rock Band...Just not doable with so little room in my "loft"...

Lots of great songs on that album.

Still, I have to ask...where's Who's Next? There's almost TOO much DLC being announced. Almost.

My dad used to have this on vinyl, and I listened to it until the record player disintegrated with age. Moving in Stereo is one of the best songs ever made.

We're in complete agreement on this one.

Looks like Im finally going to be forced to join a band instead of being a hero... I had the cars in my mp3 playlist just last week during a mountain bike ride and then contemplated my best friends girlfriend who used to be mine.

Here's the list:

"Good Times Roll"
"My Best Friend's Girl"
"Just What I Needed"
"I'm in Touch with Your World"
"Don't Chat Stop"
"You're All I've Got Tonight"
"Bye Bye Love"
"Moving in Stereo"
"All Mixed Up"

SOOO many good songs on that album.

This right here will probably sell me Rock Band. Why did they have to chose such a great fucking album?

Also, Just what I needed was the song we played at our wedding, so maybe I can get the missus' blessing on grabbing this, so that I might serenade her.

Guess very shortly I'll be moving, in stereo to buy this.

alright, I'll admit that was kinda' weak

One of my favorite albums of all time. I first heard "Just What I Needed" just after getting off a plane in California while on my way to play in a soccer tournament (yeah, I'm freakin' old). Managed to convince the people we stayed with to take me to a record store so I could buy the album.

There's probably some pretty good times to be had with this DLC.

I'd really love to see RHCP - Californication, or something along those lines too.

Apparently Harmonix is having trouble getting the masters from the record company.

Goddammit. Even though I new the Cars was coming, I saw this title out of the corner of my eye and thought it said "The Cure". Now that would be a pack I'd buy.

The Cure's Disintegration would make me weep with happiness.

On that note, this is a great album in it's own right. Rock Band keeps on truckin'.

I'm totally getting most if not all of these songs, but still I am getting tired of not seeing Who's Next on the DLC list. I would pay them double for that album. I need more Keith Moon drum parts.
