Yes (or no, whatever your mood). It's Monday again. Time for some Monday Blues. What did you guys really play the last couple of days? Still vibing in Liberty City? Finally blasted your way through hard-mode Ikaruga (yeah right)? Got cake in Portal?

Tell us all about your digital adventures right here.

I played GTA4 (that game is still as annoyingly hard as last GTA's imo, freaking savepoints) and got back into Lost Odyssey and Persona 3.

A lot of changing newborn diapers. Besides that, I got in a little Disgaea 2, a decent bit of Final Fantasy 2 (I'm not seeing the hate for the game yet), and quite a bit of Bioshock (I had the urge to shoot stuff).

Bit of Rondo of Swords, bit of Drone Tactics, bit of R-Type Command. None of those games are quite good enough to really suck me in, but they each have their merits.

Gorvi: You should probably know that the GBA version of FFII is much more friendly than the original (or the PSX) version. The game is well known for having a punishing sort of growth system that would encourage you to beat on your own characters in order to make them stronger. I think that jacked-up sort of grinding is why it's a bit of a black sheep in the series. The GBA version makes it much easier to grow, which is why it's probably not irritating you as much as it would otherwise.

I played, enjoyed, and beat Assault Heroes 2. That was a fun little title, but I wasn't fond of area 19 (I think) and the last area, where you play from the prespective of behind your spacecraft. I didn't like that too much. Worth ten bucks, however. Well worth it.

I also played the heck out of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (BC from original Xbox) on my 360. I wanted to get a character "up to snuff" with all the goodies I had originally in my Xbox saves, and I'm pretty close. I'm just missing a nice shield and a few minor trinkets. Other than that, I'm uber-buffed and ready to pillage the game again from the start! :)

If you can't tell, I REALLY like games from an overhead perspective (which both of the above are). Two-stick controls are also awesome for me.

Not much really, maybe an hour of GTA IV on saturday. I graduated from UNM on saturday, so that was an extremely busy day. I mostly chilled and grilled yesterday, and that was cool. Now that I am done with school for at least a little while it is time to start playing games regularly again.

Ahh, ok, that makes sense. I'm better off playing this version anyway, then, as I doubt I'd have the patience for it otherwise.

And yeah, all 3 of those games you mentioned looked a bit underwhelming. Disappointing, really.

A lot of changing newborn diapers. Besides that, I got in a little Disgaea 2, a decent bit of Final Fantasy 2 (I'm not seeing the hate for the game yet), and quite a bit of Bioshock (I had the urge to shoot stuff). So are you still on meconium or have you leveled up to the real stuff? Ooof da, that was a switch :D

Played a bunch of Warcraft III against the AI (which can still regularly spank me like a naughty puppy) and a little more MGS3 (didn't get too far, just past the EVA introduction with the oh-so-subtle press R1 moments ). Still haven't made it to any sort of boss battle yet. The game holds up pretty well for a PS2 game though, both in the game play and in the visual department. Other than that, spent most of Saturday and Sunday doing lawn-work. Sod is surprisingly heavy...

Been trying to finish some of the extra side quests in GTA IV. There's so much stuff I previously missed in the city itself, and just from driving around with no "real" missions to complete I'm noticing more and more things to do.

I played Drone Tactics and GalCivII:ToA, mostly, as I'd planned. When I got tired of those two, I played Fantasy Wars and beat a couple more missions.

Very, very slowly made my way through GTA4. I think I'm only at about 14/15% but have easily racked up 20+ hours just from driving around. I want to take my time with this game and not rush it, but I'd be really surprised if I end up pulling another weekend marathon after this.

I beat GTAIV last week and I was happy to be done with it. Played quite a bit of Lost Odyssey this weekend. I am now on the final battle (which I lost once last night but intend to finish today). I am really glad I got back to the game because I'm really enjoying it.

I also bought and played a little of Final Fantasy: CC My Life of as King, Lords of Thunder and Assault Heroes. Lords being my favorite of the three. A fantastic game that I always wanted to play back in the early 90's when I had my Turbographx but it was for the Duo (which I did not have). It lives up to its legacy. This game would have blown me away back then. It is still awesome today.

Beat GTA 4. Great game. Enjoyed it a lot. I've saved the game at the various points where you have to make choices so it won't be hard to get the other endings too.

I actually did very little gaming. I played some FFXI, Mario Galaxy, and finally took the plunge and got Crystal Chronicles:My Life as a King. It's actually pretty cool. I love how when you read the adventurers reports, there are actual battle logs of the fights. I really like that it's FF, yet it's a game you can play pretty casually.

I had a 3 day weekend, so I got a lot of gaming in. Friday I finished Lost Winds, which IMO just might be the best game yet on the Wii. I also spent quite a bit of time with My Life as King, which is a pretty good little city builder. Saturday I finally caved in and bought Mario Kart Wii and GTA IV. As the first GTA title that I've made it more than 30 min into I'm pretty impressed with the game. I wouldn't say it quite lives up to the ridiculous amount of hype surrounding it, but I consider it $60 well spent.

Hey, Eternal Gamer, what do you think about My Life As A King? I'm utterly smitten with it. Also, it's nice to see you back on the Lost Odyssey Love Train :)

I didn't spend nearly as much time on GTAIV this weekend as I had hoped to. I've been busy with work and chasing kids and what-not, so the few times I did fire it up it was very late at night and I could barely stay awake long enough to do a mission.

I spent a lot of time last night trying to get my helicopter close enough to the Statue Of Happiness so I could jump out onto the upper level but alas, I only succeeded in seeing what happens when Niko falls out of a chopper from a great height OR when the blades of your chopper disintegrate and you fall out of the air.

I did spend a LOT of time playing The World Ends With You. I'm still on the third day of the second week, but I'm really digging it. I just can't stop leveling up my pins. Lost Winds got a bit of play too, as did Pop.

Oh, and my brother came over on Saturday so we played a bunch of Rock Band. You know it's a good game when my brother, the guy who loathes rhythm/music games, kept telling me 'just one more song'...

I got to play Boom Blox with friends and can confirm that the multiplayer in that is awesome. Well worth the price of the game (which also has very engaging singleplayer, but the multi is really great).

Other than that, I played "copy all my virtual console games to my SD card so that I can delete stuff from my Wii and make space for WiiWare titles and the Wii Fit channel later this week." It's not really all that fun a game, but I was kind of forced to play it.

Still replaying God of War 2. Also watched "Alexander" on DVD.

As a broke asshole with a Girlfriend and nothing epic to play on the Wii right now I've been going back into the archives of older games I love. Stuck on level 43 on WoW and slowly loosing interest as my friends level faster then I do not playing too many videogames with summer coming.

Also I watched my friend play GTA4 for a few hours.

...if you've discovered the secret of time travel...you'd tell me, right? The trick is to spend 8-12 minutes per game. Then you can fit it all in :)

The World Ends With You got the lion's share of my time this weekend. GTA IV really only got about an hour or so of playtime as I did one mission and then just spent the rest of my time trying to land on the Statue.

The PC games were played mostly during yesterday afternoon as it was a rainy day and everyone in the house was asleep, so I got to nerd out on the PC (which happens all too rarely).

It's possible to do as long as you don't expect any marathon gaming sessions.

I got to play a lot of Crisis Core as I was sick in bed. Last night got in a good hour and a half of one-on-one Smash Bros Brawl. Then tried PGR4 for about an hour. I've never really gotten into the realistic driving sims. I've been a big fan of Burnout 3, F-Zero/Wipeout, and MarioKart and that's about all my game driving game experience. So PGR was a big change, but I am learning to love it as I learn not to suck at it.

I really really liked Dark Cloud 2, put around 80 hours into it. Sometimes I wonder if it would of been better if they cut out all the grinding and kept the story and made it a short adventure game. Although I'd admit most of the grinding I did was to get these silly costumes that didn't effect gameplay.

I loved Dark Cloud 2 until I got to the final boss and realized that in order to have a chance in hell against him, I'd basically have to go and grind up the girl's weapon, which would have added another 20 hours of playtime with nothing much to add to the story.

The same thing happened with the first Dark Cloud as I got to the final boss and realized that I couldn't even touch him without levelling up the secondary weapon, which I'd pretty much neglected for the entire game. Sigh.

My Life As A King has basically fulfilled all of my Dark Cloud fantasies without imposing pointless grinding. I love it just for that.

Does the DLC add anything to the core game that's immediately accessible? Or is it all "high level content" that I'd need to play 15 hours before I'd even see? If that's the case, I'll jump in for the $15 and see if I like it enough to pick up the DLC later on (assuming it'll seamlessly put it in after the fact, which I assume is true).

Sweet, thanks. :) Picked up the base $15 game tonight and like it so far (3 days in), I'll play around with it a bit and look into exactly what the DLC gets you and decide from there. I assume the clothing is just, well, clothing? I don't think I care too much about the aesthetics. ;)

Yeah, the extra clothing sets are just pallet swaps for Leo and Chime. They aren't that special, from what I've heard, but I was able to justify purchasing them because they are only $1. That wasn't the best use of my money, but whatever.

GTA finally took over my gaming life. That's all I played pretty much when I had time. I now have Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon and Jeanne D'arc from Gamefly. I'll have to do the Spigot time stopping trick :).

City of Heroes.

It looks like the new issue will go live soon. I was in beta for this issue and it looks great, but I got kind of burned out from messing with it so much.

I just played around with rebuilding my toon, made some new Inventions, and generally sold stuff from my inventory and got new things.

I need to play an RPG on my DS for a while....

Are you asking for recommendations, or are you just stating the facts?

If you want aJRPG for your DS, I would suggest The World Ends With You (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=49010).

I concider myself a lover of all things JRPGish and eclectic and TWEWY was almost too much for me at first. It's awesome, don't get me wrong, but ease the guy in a bit :)

I played Crackdown. I felt like leaping majestically along a city skyline.

Finally got the RRoD on an OG (launch) console.

I played Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow on the old Xbox. That controller is so large and clunky now.

That is what the brain is there for...to be blown to bits with overload of games you have no idea what is going on...yet the feeling of needing to "know more"...gojira, we are all TWEWY freaks, just go buy it...you won't regret it...and go visit us in the handhelds for this thread on TWEWYwhen you do...

I actually managed to wrap up the story mode of GTA4.

Truly an excellent game.

Since yesterday was a holiday, today is my Monday.

Played lots of COD4, starting to really get into it again. I forgot how much fun it is. A few missions in GTA4 and a whole lot of Rock Band with the girlfriend.

I keep wanting to pop in Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Earth Defense Force 2017 but they both seem like they just need to be played Coop. So if anyone's looking to play either of those, hit me up.

Today is also my Monday. I got quite a bit of gaming in this weekend because the girlfriend was away. I played some Bioshock and got the part where you meet Andrew Ryan in his office, which was pretty awesome. I also played some Need for Speed Carbon and lots of Quake Wars. It was a good weekend.

You have a pretty decently sized spoiler in that there post. I know you didn't say what takes place in that scene, but even mentioning that that scene takes place can be considered a spoiler.

Not trying to be a dick, but one of the biggest plot points in that game was ruined for me and I would like to save others from that.

I have three or four RPG(ish) games for my DS, but I'll take another, sure. Thanks for the recomendation! :)

In my opinion, that's what this site is for -- gamers helping gamers. Everything else -- the podcasts, the comics, the play nights -- is just extra.

Since Gamestop fired Jeff G., I've been like "why bother?" So many review sites are just shills. I read this site and Penny Arcade for one reason: the games.

Thanks again.

Sorry about that. I didn't think mentioning that would be a spoiler. Stupid not being able to edit these topic anymore.
