Nice to see the $50 price tag, though. Rising game prices makes perfect sense, and i'm willing to deal with it, but man, I'd rather not.
I'm getting more and more tempted to pre-order my 360. My rationality is telling me "No!" but everything else is saying "yes!".

As much negative press that I have read about the 360 lately, I'm still glad I have my premium bundle.

I don't feel any need personally for the premium bundle but I think the idea of games coming with custom HUD skins is pretty cool. A $10 premium seems too high though. Maybe $5 and it better come with a cooler case ala Halo 2.
how many limited editions will be printed?

I'm curious how this game is going to turn out. I'll be checking GameSpot.com the second the review's up fo' sure.

Looks like a little more than what came with the Halo 2 CE, and the GUI skins is an awesome idea.
I'll pay it.
The crybabies will just have to be jealous of my awesome online skins. *rawk*

The Halo2: LE was great. The *best*, though, has to be the XBox Doom 3: LE; the 4 player co-op through Doom 1 & 2 is totally worth it. (Picked it up on eBay.)

He won't have to customize his identity for that. The State has already done that for him when they put that sex offender sign in his front yard.

Uh... it does. It has the same case as the Halo 2 CE, except it's black.

I'm glad to see the 49.99 price tag. I never get the "limited" versions. Oh and if they were truly limited, they would be numbered. They just say "limited" or "collector's" edition on the box to trigger that old comic-book buying reflex that remains in your head. Foil embosssed??? NO WAY!!!
It should really be called the "ten dollars more" edition.

Can someone tell me what the fuck is up with MS's games getting novelizations? We have Halo, Brute Force, Perfect Dark, Crimson Skies...am I missing any? Does this seem strange to anyone else?
What a waste of fucking paper.

I have a bias against media tie-ins. Basically you hire a guy to write a book based on your story. It's different when you direct someone else's script, but to write someone else's novel is a cop-out. I enjoy reading original pieces, original worlds and characters created by the author him/herself. That's why I've always been turned off by the D&D books and Star Wars novels. I bet they are okay stuff, but I'll take a permanent raincheck.

None of Brute Force was awesome.
I don't know why in the hell I thought that game was going to be good, but a system link co-op game tickled me balls just right. Two of my friends and I set up three TVs in a room and tried it. Our jaw just dropped at how atrocious it was. Even the first level... just maddening amounts of badness. I've never felt so shitty about a game purchase in my life.

Agreed. Brute Force was total and utter garbage. As you may or may not have noticed, not a peep has been heard from Digital Anvil since then. My guess is that Microsoft has finally tired of them ripping off money. I assume you all know the saga of how the Robertses have stolen 10's of millions from Microsoft and got away with it, right?

Jesus fucking christ you people will bitch about anything. Yes, $10 for THAT, you don't want it, then don't fucking buy it. You wanna bitch about something, bitch about the Half-Life 2 CE, this by comparison is a fucking gold mine.

I hear they have a novelization of Oblivion in the works, too. You'd better preorder that bad boy, quick.

"Internet space." Lol. I hope his block of 80+ words doesn't mean we'll run out of "Internet space" some day. If we do, I guess we'll have to blame you posting it in its entirety in your reply, brainiac.
So what if he doesn't like tie-ins. At least he put some goddamn thought into his post, unlike your one-off flame post, troll.
Also, please stop accusing the one guy who made fun of "customizing your identity" of being a sex offender. Thanks, and stop wasting my "internet space" with your own bullshit.

As the one who started the whole sex offender thing....umm, you may want to grab a dictionary Doomsday and look up a word called HUMOR? Yeah, it was a joke. I'm fairly sure the individual whom I was giving shit too realized that I was not meaning my remark to insult, instead I was just ribbing him in good natured fun. Fuck man, pull the stick out of your ass.

Don't Blizzard have a lot of novelisations for their games too (but other stories in the world aren't they?)
Anyone else know of any others? I'm pretty sure there are loads I can't remember right now.
(I like the blackness of the box and the art on the back over some screenshots and some blurb)

Halo: The Flood sucked... it was basically a recap of the game. The Fall of Reach and First Strike weren't bad in terms of giving you some background, and it was cool to see/hear how ilovebees referred to things explained in the novels. They weren't anything amazing, but they weren't bad. Still... my favorite video-game based novel was End Run based on Wing Commander.

Ok, now that's cool. I'm sold, I'll happily plunk down my extra $10. I'm a sucker for those cases and this one looks especially cool. I'm still sad that I couldn't find the LE version of Chaos Theory for Xbox. PS2 ones were all over the place but I wanted the Xbox version.

Anyway, I noticed a mistake. Crimson Skies was a FASA table top game, a computer game, a clix game and finally an XBox title. While one did come out after its XBox incarnation, other novels predate it. And if there was a world that needed a film rendition...

Yeah, that sex offender thing was hilarious and I think he was the only one to find offense...maybe he had to skip down to the local police and report his change of address, if you know what I'm saying.
