While not quite video game news we have a ton of talented artists around here who might want to know that Wizard Universe and Image Comics are holding a cover contest (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/051308warheroesccannouncement.html) for their upcoming comic book series, War Heroes.

The six-issue War Heroes, published by Image Comics, establishes an America in turmoil. After suffering brutal nuclear strikes by Iraqi insurgents, America endures total economic and political collapse, which causes a massive shift in the world order. However, the tides change when the government develops a way to grant every military cadet a superpower. It's exactly the kind of book fans expect from Millar, best known for explosive series such as Civil War, and Harris, co-creator and artist on the political-superhero thriller Ex Machina.

Here's how you can enter and how the competition will go down:

Create your art and submit it to WarHeroesCoverCompetition[AT]gmail[DOT]com (all submissions must be electronic).
All submissions must be received by June 4, 2008.
Art will be posted at http://www.wizarduniverse.com/warheroescovercompetition.html as it rolls in, so check back continually to see the latest entries!
Fan voting will begin on June 9, 2008 at WizardUniverse.com to narrow down the field of competitors. After a week of voting, the finalists will be chosen, and Millar and Harris will provide judgment on which finalist submission will grace the cover of their book.
The winner's cover will appear as a variant to issue #4 of War Heroes and the winner will be paid a pro-rate for their work. So, prestige and cash money—or in other words—one heckuva prize! For a five page preview of War Heroes, click here (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/0501308warheroespreview.html)!

I would love to see an EvAv member win! Good luck guys!

I'm a terrible artist, so I won't even try, but I'm liking the concept for this comic. I'll probably be buying at least the first issue.
