There’s either something very right or very wrong about Transporter 2 making more on its opening weekend than Stealth - $20.2 million versus $13.5 million. I'm not sure which. Had I not been high on percocet this weekend, I would probably have gone to see it.

Saw Transporter 2, it was very entertaining but a tad unrealistic. I wish they had more of the character's "coolness" from the first one, none the less it was an entertaining movie.

I quite enjoyed Transporter 2. Certainly it was unrealistic, but they did some great bits with the action sequences. The french inspector was pretty funny. The scene with the firehose has been done before, but it had such a brutal edge to it.

Avoid brothers grimm. Saw it with a bunch of people and we all thought it was horrible. Expected an entertaining horror fairytale parody movie and all we got were crappy one liners and bad special effects.

There were too many "there's no way he could do that" moments in Transporter 2 for me to fully enjoy it. It was mindless action and it was fun to watch but it could have been so much better.

Brothers Grimm is good if you like Terry Gilliam, though it's certainly not his best. Saw 40 Year Old Virgin this weekend, and it's hilarious.

The Transporter 2 was action distilled into an essence and packaged into a movie.

Most outrageous moment? Knocking the car bomb off of the bottom of his Audi. And it was beautiful. :D

Damn, I have never seen so many box office bombs in one summer as this year. Stealth, Grimm, and that Ewan Magregor POS. Good special effects just can't carry a movie anymore. One day, they will figure out that we are playing video games instead of going to the movies (that and they need to drop the prices).

The Transporter 2 is pure joy. Anyone who says differently traded their soul to the devil for awesome guitar skills.

Only real bummer in transporter 2 for me was the helicopter explosion, looked like they spent about $2 on that effect.

Did anyone else see The Constant Gardener?

I thought it was amazingly brilliant, albeit depressing.

Also saw Red Eye finally. Which was fairly entertaining. I just wish I could forgive it for doing the "oh no, no cell phone signal when I have to make and important call!" and "oh no, now I have a cell signal, but the battery is dying!" thing.

YAY, Nick Cannon got what he deserved. Although it would of been better with $ZERO

I imagine that Fiennes is perfect for the part and Weiz must be a knockout.

Of course you can't see it here, but A Sound of Thunder was a complete and utter bomb, opening at #17.

I'm a huge Bradbury fan, but the reviews sounded so damn terrible for A Sound of Thunder. What a shame.

I hope the new movie version of Fahrenheit 451 (if it ever gets finished) fares better.

Transporter 2 was everything I could have possibly hoped for. 15 minutes of dialogue and an hour of Jason Statham kicking guys. And to top that off, it had the most rediculous fight sequences of all time!

While the title wouldn't imply it, The Constant Gardener is, basically, a movie about spies and conspiracies. Fiennes is a low-level British diplomat in Africa, and Weisz is his activist wife who may or may not be cheating on him while attempting to discover a worldwide drug conspiracy involvling big pharmaceuticals and illegal testing. It's downright amazing, and I can honestly say that it is one of the best movies I have seen all year.

Transporter 2 was shit. The first one had a great sense of style, and very cool and well-directed action sequences. Statham is a fantastic leading man. I thought the original was one of the best action movies in years. One of the reasons for this is that the action was of the type which could plausibly be done by a real human being, in the real world.

Not only did Transporter 2 go way beyond the original in terms of dumbass stuntery, it went beyond pretty much any other movie I've ever seen. The crap that happens in this movie had me laughing out loud at a couple of points. Pathetic.

Combine that with a dopey script which contains numerous holes and stupidities, and you've got one hell of a shitty sequel. Pisses me off. Statham's still awesome though.

Transporter 2.... I liked it, but wanted to love it.
Basically, it's what others have said before. Parts of it were freaking excellent. I actually liked the interactions with the kid at the beginning, the fight scenes... nice... but then they had like 3 or 4 moments it was just... oh god, here goes hollywood again.
(That car bomb thing sucked ass. Grrr)

Sometimes movies like the constant gardener piss me off to the point where I walk out. I love when movies like that are done well, but so often they are just so full of political crap(usually leftist, after all it is Hollywood) that I cant watch. The remake of the Manchurian candidate was a good example of a film that I couldn't watch because it just pissed me off.

That said, I have not yet seen the constant gardener so I cant speak on if it is guilty yet.

Go see the Constant Gardener - i comand thee! While the film pace can be a bit brutal at times it's a wonderfully well done picture. The photography is top notch and sustains an extremely realistic tone (for those who dont like that - go waste 8 bucks on the Transporter - btw - WE All know JAson stathom = English version of Van Damme. Americas' gotta have an international palette of crappy two bit action stars to fill the role of generic hero - BORING. Constant Gardener is something that all Americans/westerns should see - yes it can be construed as "preachy" or lol "leftist" if u want to be ignorant about it. Oh and Orphiuchus - Hollywood ain't leftist - it's about making money and feeding the masses b.s. narratives like the transporter. NO american film company would pay to make a movie like the constant gardener - hence the fact that English money paid for it.
UK produces The Constant Gardener about African squalor and western expoitation - Americans' get TEARs of the SUn - go enjoy your "leftist" Bruce Willis picture ya nub:)

Constant Gardener was fantastic, but as my roommate said, "It certainly isn't the feel-good movie of the summer." Depressing, but great characters, way more complex than they seem to be on the outset.

As for Transporter 2, I can't imagine it being much different from the first one. Paper thin plot, over-the top, unrealistic action, a bullet-proof hero (ala the Shaft remake) but tons of fun.

I haven't seen the sequel, but anyone expecting more than that (besides a girl as hot as the Chinese girl in the first one) is asking too much.

So Jackie Chan is white now

I know the asians took Tiger Woods, the whites got Michael Jackson, but whites also got the Chan-man? I guess Michael Jackson was some sort of bum draft choice in order to score Jackie Chan too.

I remember reading a while ago that the creator of the Transporter series envisioned Jason Statham's character as being gay, and apparently he hid clues to his sexuality in the first movie (I never noticed anything.) Does this theory make sense to those of you who saw the new one? Is there anything in the flick to discount or corroborate this? If so it would be rather interesting considering the target audience.

Michael Jackson we got in the Tiger Woods trade, and we also got a 1st-round pick, which we burned on Jackie Chan.

I just rented the Machinist and it's fucked up. If you are a Christian Bale fan, you'll be disgusted at how much weight the guy lost to fit the role. He admitted he didnt eat for days/weeks. He basically became anorexic. It's sickening, and the movie is a psychological horror whodunnit.

I liked it, but there were too many things going on visibly for the viewer, and just when you tried to piece some of them together, you are hit with an ending that basically blindsides you. There are some hidden references that I wont go into detail with here so as not to spoil the ending, but it still is nigh impossible to figure out the ending before it happens.

Finally I just said "Fucker's crazy." It's my easy way out of psychological movies...letting me enjoy the movie instead of think. That Christian Bale is a fucking crazy shit though. I'll always connect him with American Psycho. Not Batman...American Psycho.

I just finished watching Crash. To those who said it was a good movie, you were totally wrong.

...in fact, it was a GREAT movie. Easily the best film I've seen all year. It's funny how that movie can break you down and build you back up, from heartbreaking to heartwarming. It's a moving experience, and I almost feel sorry for people who have seen the Transporter instead of this film.
