UT 3 is way tempting at 22 dollars. I thought 30 was a bargain. I'm going to pick this up.

Frontlines is incredibly awesome. And for PC gamers, the controls translate perfectly to the 360 gamepad. Very similar to Haze's controls on the DS3.

Wait, there's a DS3? :)

Do not, under any circumstances, buy Empire Earth III. They should be paying you for that privilege.

Did the second patch for Frontlines ever come out on the 360? The one that was supposed to fix a lot of stuff?

By the way, how many maps does Frontlines have? Is it just eight?

I actually enjoyed the Frontlines demo when it came out. What was the beef people had with it, again?

I heard it was/is a very fun multiplayer game. It seems it got creamed by CoD 4?

I may be cheap, but $29.99 just doesn't seem cheap enough to me. :(

I found it boring and buggy. I did manage to play through the campaign but couldn't find any real reason to play it multiplayer when I had things like Company of Heroes and Team Fortress 2 on my PC at the same time.

I'm tempted to get Frontlines. I'm too cheap to buy CoD4 at the moment, but I want a good shooter. Does it really only have eight MP maps? Well, $25 for the PC version seems fair enough, but being buggy, well, that changes things. I guess I'm going to have to do some research.

Yup. I dug around their forums. Eight official maps. No mods or user maps.

The devs have hinted they may someday offer DLC maps.

I think I'll pass.

Frontlines on 360 for 30 bones...I'll try that. And if it sucks, trade it in to GameFly for $29 in credit :-)

Maybe if you didn't have to support a small army you could afford it. ;)

As far as value per hour played, nothing has ever come close to Guild Wars for me. At that price, you are walking away with an account.

My LAN group has played Front lines some. It is a fun game, but it really lacks polish. :-( It is an ok game, that comes VERY close to a great game.

Frontlines PC looks sort of tempting, but I hear the PC version is (/was) a buggy mess and I have no idea what the state of patches for it is. Guild Wars, I already have everything except Factions, and I don't really want Factions anyhow. UTIII is a great price... but I really didn't care for the brief playtime I had with UTIII, it felt like a technically superior version of UT2004 from which somebody removed all the color and life and replaced it with grey-brown landscapes and War of the Worlds vehicles.

UT3 is pretty good, but I want Sins Of A Solar Empire to go on sale, damn it!

Frontlines may only have 8 maps...but they are fucking huge. So in comparison to the type of game it is, it works. This is no CoD4 or team fortress, it's the next Battlefield. And the 360 version has the 50 player dedicated servers. Where cod4 and tf2 are simple and rewarding - frontlines isn't.

UTIII is tempting... hm. My problem with it, as someone else mentioned, is that the style has shifted towards this Gears of War "bleak, brown world" shit. Fuels of War is set in the desert, isn't it? I really can't stand how gritty so many games are these days. About the only two FPS games that have come out in the past couple of years that had any color other than various shades of tan, were Prey and Halo 3.

Still, the UTIII demo was kind of fun. How is the modding community for UTIII? Are they still going to be doing Make Something Unreal?

I was about to grab UT3, but damn, shipping brings it right back up to too damn much. I was also looking to grab halo 2 for under $20, but for whatever reason, you can't get dirt cheap shipping for that and they charge you separate rates for two items really sticking it to you. Normally I try to grab a few items to help lower the blow of shipping, but I guess not in this case.

Just bought UT3. I have been wanting to try this game out for some time now but the price has been keeping me away. At $25 its a steal, and I am somewhat confused how others would think otherwise... But whatever, I am getting it now, and that's all that matters

Damn those attractive prices!

I received UTIII 3 days ago, and finally had a chance to play it 2 day ago. Within those 2 days I saw more than 5 of the same people on different servers in different modes. Almost no one plays this title, and if they do, they must not go online. The menu system is clunky, which is sad, because i remember its predecessor having a very smooth and streamlined interface.

The default keys to some of the stuff doesn't make sense. For instance, F1 opens scoreboard, and Tab opens console.

The graphics are nice, but even they suffer. The graphics are bland and feel almost depressing. The characters are cliche and look completely uninspired, almost as if they were trying to appeal to wrestling fans or something. I don't know.

The game itself is the same game it has ever been. There feels like nothing new here, really. There are variations to old modes, but that is all they are. Nothing groundbreaking here, which is sad, because it feels more like a graphic update for an MMORPG than a sequel to a once reveled game.

So if you, or anyone you know is being offered this game at a very good price... just say no!
