I don't know whether you can actually call Second Life a game, but I just signed on this weekend.
Anyone else here on Second Life?

I tried it out a couple years ago. I had some fun building in the sandbox areas, but my connection was just way too slow, so moving around the world (walking, flying, etc.) was a giant pain.

Second Life is a perfect example of how to not make a game. It's one of the slowest, clunkiest pieces of shit that I've ever come across.

Its only value is in finding out what the Something Awful group has come up with next. Even that is something I haven't done in ages. Second Life Safari was an excellent column on their site.

I've been on it a few more times. The only redeeming value for the game is to log on and explore the world a bit. The population density is so low that I can usually roam around the maps without running into a single soul.
When I study, I sit next to the water and type keypoints to myself.
