L.A. Rush recreates a living, breathing go anywhere Los Angeles with highly destructible environments, players will be able to explore Los Angeles by day or by night from Compton, to LAX, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the beaches of Santa Monica. WorthPlaying (http://www.worthplaying.com) recently had a chance to go hands on with a build, here is a snip :

In the pick-up-and-play cruise mode, you are placed on a linear strip of road, and you have to weave through heavily scripted traffic. The catch is that your cruise control is locked in at a predetermined speed, and if you drop below that speed, it's game over. It's like Speed, sans Keanu and a bomb. Crashing into other cars or driving off the road are the likeliest causes of sub-speed situations. You also have a clock to worry about, as fast times and longer distances are recorded. This mode has an addictive quality to it, and you may find yourself trying to go further and faster over and over, in spite of the simplistic gameplay.Check the complete L.A. Rush preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=27788) over at WorthPlaying

I'm looking forward to L.A. Rush if not only to see how badly they have raped one of my most beloved franchises.

Who knows, I could be wrong... but from all I've seen... L.A. Rush IS NOT a Rush game.
It'll probably still be fun though, that being said. They should have named it something else.

I didn't think it was possible for something to make you feel less excited, but this game seems to have done that to me. I think I'm going to go stare at a wall for a bit now.

This looks cool to me. Midway's been impressive with their games here in the past year or so, and I'll be giving this one a go. That Speed-like gametype sounds cool.

Since when did Rush become the ugly bastard child of Test Drive and Midnight Club? Suuuuuck

I know let's have a game where we simulate the annoyance of gridlock but penalize the player for causing mayhem and destruction. Great game! What's next? Stick Your Tongue on the Live Circuit? EnemaSim?
