PS3:
echochrome ($9.99)
Dark Sector Demo
Weekly Rock Band Songs
Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore Downloadable Songs ($1.49 each, 42 songs)
PSP:

If the demo was any indication, echochrome should be a must buy.

$10 for Echochrome? Wow..awesome. Now which platform to buy it on.

If only it could be played on both... Did I read that the levels weren't the same in the two versions?

I read that each of them have 56 levels and that the 56 levels on the PSP are totally different from the 56 levels on the PS3.

This won't be easy. Even the first level is a decent challenge. Not to mention there is a level editor and you can supposedly share via PSN messages.

I think I'll get the PSP version first. If the craving strikes, then I'll get the ps3 version.

Hopefully the levels for the version you don't have will be released as an expansion pack.

For what it's worth, future expansions are supposed to be free compilations of user created content. Also, this game officially owns my heart.

BAP: I think the correct answer is "both".

I picked that up without a moment's hesitation...the only delay I ran into was trying to find my damn USB-to-miniUSB cable.
I hates cables, but I loves this game...so, I guess it was worth it.

Yup. Looks like it, especially if what Psykoboy said is true.

Already picked up both. Best purchases in a while.

If only they sold pre-paid PSN cards here. Not having a credit card really sucks sometimes.
Edit: Meaning I want to buy echochrome, as if I'd want anything else.

Echochrome? Tonight? Hell friggin' yes!

I think I'm gonna get the PS3 version. That music is too good not to be played through big speakers.

Headphones, my friend.
Plus I don't have a PS3, so I'm going with the PSP version by default :)

Is Dark Sector any good?
Meh. It's decent, but the cover system seems really loose and the guy moves slow as all hell unless you're hitting the dash button, but then you can barely turn. Controlling the blade thing with the tilt works well, but the rest of the game just feels very, very average.

I didn't like Echochrome that much, so I don't think I'll get it, but I appreciate that they released a demo for it. I hope they continue to do that.
Echochrome looks cool, but I can see myself enjoying it for 4-5 levels and then get frustrated, annoyed or just bored. Staring at black and white screens for 50+ levels isn't my kind of thing. I need colors damnit :p

Picked up the PS3 version, shit it's a lot harder than the demo. My wife was watching me play, and she's like - "how the hell do you know what to do?"
my reply?
"Very good question...."

Make sure you're trying them in order. If you pick that first option on the main menu, it's like hitting "shuffle" and throws some pretty hard puzzles at you right off the bat.

Yeah. Some of those puzzles (I think I got hit with D3 on the PSP version) were just mindnumbing.
That said, Echochrome is just what I wanted and will keep me busy for a while... and for $10, how can you complain?

Is Dark Sector any good?
Nope... it's a feeble clone of Gears of War. The boomerag glaive gets old after 5 minutes.

I bought it for the PS3. Just too unique to pass up. Not sure how well it stands as a "game" though, it's more like Brain Age for the PS3, with less variety.

Electrochrome? It's a puzzle game, pure and simple. It's just that it uses perspective as its game mechanic.
Nothing to do with Brain Age except for the fact that you need a brain :)

Can't you buy the PSP version on a PC and usb it to your PSP.

I wish you could just go directly to the Playstation Store via the PSP's net connection and buy/download directly without having to go through an intermediary. They should really implement a Playstation Store button on the XMB.

They've said that's coming in the next few months, but they didn't give an exact date. They really should have just worked on that first instead of the PC store.

I remember being astounded that I had to jump through so many hoops when I first got my PSP last fall, esp. after doing all of the direct downloads to the Wii and 360.
I hope they finally get their act in gear one of these days.

Oh god..
ECHOCHROME!
Sigh. I don't know what was going through my brain earlier.
Oh wait, yes I do. I was watching my kids whack each other with Hot Wheels. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I like this game. Bit harder than the demo even on lower levels. I love the music. I wish I could get a soundtrack or could get my hands on something of the same styling. I really like violins.
