I've always been more of a Marvel man, myself, but it could still be cool, especially for other folks.

I'm picturing some new classification of animated finale. One that allows DC to include their licensed characters without fear of seeing them disemboweled in ways that will make Jack Thompson's checkbook ache in anticipation. That's right...I'm talking about COMIC-ALITIES!!

DC consistently has more gore in their main universe books than Marvel (i.e. not counting Max). Now, whether they let that carry over to a mass market game is another thing (I'm guessing not, like most here), but don't act like DC is Disney-fied. That is so far from the case as to be laughable.

The new characters won't be the only changes to the Mortal Kombat formula. Comic fans would no doubt cry foul if Superman dismembered an opponent and then proceeded to beat him to death with his own limbs, so Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe won't carry the familiar M for Mature rating.

Whatever then. Color me no longer interested and not shocked at all.

Point 1: Good to know that Midway and DC are still years behind the curve of Capcom and Marvel respectively.

Point 2: A mortal combat game without the over-the-top-violence is like Grand Theft Auto where you politely ask to borrow someone's car. It isn't even the same game.

I don't know.. while the MK Mythologies series might have been bad... htey're weren't CONCEPTUALLY bad. I mean, they weren't just patently ridiculous.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC most people.. even industry professionals... thought was a joke. When people think you're idea is a joke, it's not off to a good start.

Also, for the people comparing it to Marvel Vs. Capcom... please do remember that Capcom had been making Marvel fighting games and Capcom fighting games for years before they merged them. It at least made some sense.

All I want to do is a fatality to Ed Boon. I mean, Marvel vs. Capcom was an eventual joining that was akin to Cookies and Creme. DC Comics however is Peanut Butter and Mortal Kombat is... well... Ham. Peanut Butter on my Ham is not my first choice. I would have preffered the sweet Honey Glaze that is Darkhorse, or the rich Black Forest of McFarlane (Honey Glaze IS preffered).

I agree but MK2 was a very good game. If they could give this game that same feel and timing i think it would be worth buying. By the trailer it seems like it might do that.
