This weekend the Double Xp comes from a new 12-man free-for-all (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=news&cid=13630)on the Legendary and Heroic maps, entitled Legendary Brawl:

To celebrate the release of the Legendary Map Pack, this weekend's Double XP playlist is the Legendary Brawl, a 12 man free for all playlist. Legendary Brawl is ranked, so this is a great chance to get those last few achievements and land yourself a new helmet and a katana.

Legendary Brawl starts today at 2pm PDT and ends 2am Monday morning. To play, you'll need both the Heroic and Legendary map packs. Have fun!

Bungie also posted some new 'action shots' of the Legendary Map Pack (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=13628)from this week's Humpday Challenge.

Played a little bit of it yesterday. It was interesting, to say the least. 12 man snipers on Avalanche was fun. :p I just wished it had been a longer game (it only went to 15).

Wow, now I actually have to look up which of those achievements I still don't have. I don't know how to run someone over with a mongoose....

Well, you need to be at top speed for one, or you'll just take their shields down.

Alternatively, you could do what I did earlier today (though I already have the achievement) and throw a grenade at someone, miss them, have that grenade manage to fall beside a mongoose right before someone walks by it. When they do walk by it, the 'goose proceeds to fly straight through their stomach area, giving you the satisfying, yet confusing, splatter. :p (it's in my file share, if anyone wants to check it out)

Played a few rounds of this playlist last night. 12-man FFA rockets on Standoff was a complete blast, as was the Brawl Pit gametype or whatever which is like a FFA King of the Hill. Chaotic but fun.

Played that one on Rat's Nest and had mixed feelings about it. It might have just been the people I played with... but it took us *forever* to finish that game. :p

I had a lot of fun playing this. Even took 3rd in a sniper match (I'm really beyond horrible with sniping). I kind of wish the skill grouping went by overall skill and then playlist skill, but I guess you can't get better if you never play against better players.
