In the past 2 weeks, several gaming publications throughout the world had Liberty City Stories previews to publish. They actually got to play a nearly finished version on the PSP.

The game starts off where Vinnie takes you to your appartment that includes a CD save icon and your own closet to change clothes in. While you are driving you will notice snow throughout the city!

A new feature in Liberty City Stories is the ferries. The ferries transport you from island to island if you dont want to drive. There are also several buildings to enter with full interiors.

Additional details list:
There are dozens of new vehicles never before seen in any other GTA games.
If you are killed during a mission, a taxi would spawn next to the hospital to take you back to the location where you received that mission.
Several shops, such as "Zip" and even new ones would be in the game. Although it is unconfirmed whether you'd be able to enter them.
Including the story mode and all the side missions the game would take approxametly 80-100 hours to complete.
Controls are similar to that of the shift key on a QWERTY keyboard. For instance the triangle button can be used for 2 different things. If you hold one of the shoulder buttons and press it again, it can be used for another feature.

Release Date: 10/24/2005 (PSP (http://www.gametab.com/psp/grand.theft.auto.liberty.city.stories/3801/))

Have to say, this and Mercury are my top reasons for getting a PSP. I really dig the GTA games, and look forward to being able to kill a lunch break at work playing this.

This is the one game that makes me a bit sad about having ditched my PSP. All in all, still happy with my decision, but I'd like to give this a portable romp. Looks great (as usual).

I'll go against the grain here because I have no idea what the appeal is of playing GTA on a portable. It just seems like the complete wrong style of play for something to take with you. Not to mention that a large amount of the appeal in GTA is to sit down with a group of people and just watch each other cause as much damage as possible. Obviously this takes that away.

Then again I don't see what the point is in watching movies on a screen that size either, so it's probably just me.

I have a PSP, and probably won't be purchasing this game. I stopped playing GTA after Vice City came out.

I missed having the Taxies in GTA:SA, it was a nice feature.

But GTA:SA did have trip skip (where you wouldn't have to replay a certain chunk of missions, im not sure trip skip is the correct term), although I don't think it was used for all missions.

Anyways, I am pretty excited about this game there are few titles I am looking forward to on this system, that and I only purchased one game so far which was MGA.

hope GTALCS won't require a firmware upgrade to 2.0....otherwise, this game is a must have for all PSP owners.

You are nuts. How can you own a PSP without having the two best games (hint: Lumines and Ridge Racer)?

btw, Mercury is a terrible game.

See, but I'm not sure if I'm going to like Lumines much. From the sound of it, Mercury is more my thing. Aaaaaah decisions...

There's always game rental. Mercury is OK at first, but it quickly turns incredibly frustrating.

Mercury looks like a game I would like as well. I played Lumines and it just wasn't my cup of tea.

When I first played Lumines I didn't really like it. Then I got a PSP and bought it because it was on sale... then got more addicted to it than I ever got to Tetris...

...but I hated Tetris.

Depends on what you enjoy in a game. I've really enjoyed Mercury, although I wish it didn't have those awful load times.

I enjoyed it at first. The game itself is fairly interesting. However, the horrible user interface got me to really quickly. Having to adjust the camera every time I restarted the level was painfully annoying.

I like Wipeout Pure a bit better than Ridge Racer. Ridge Racer is good but something about the controls disagrees with me.

I'm the exact opposite. I prefer Ridge Racer's controls, to Wipeout's much more floaty controls.
