Here we go with another weekend! I am stuck on my old system since the new system ram was dead on delivery. But my old machine still has CoHs where I will try out the changes in the new free issue 5 that was released on Wednesday. Other than that, work around the house and yard and trying to not melt under 110 degrees. What are you playing?

Whelp... I'm probably gonna go back to playing some RE4, and maybe some DoAXVB. FF6 is also looking mighty tempting. If I hit the mall this weekend then I may buy a new DS game, either Nintendogs (damn you Nintendo!) or Advance Wars DS. Other than that, I'm just hanging out.
I think I'm gonna go walk about the dorm with my laptop to see how far I can get reception off my wi-fi router.

Nintendo finally put out some games for DS that I actually wanted to buy, so I'll be playing some Nintendogs and Advance Wars DS.
Nintendogs! Siberian Huskies don't train themselves you know. And some FF1 on the GBA, I need to finish it before We Love Katamari comes out it simply won't happen.

Mainly Guild Wars for me. I also picked up a cheap copy of POP:WW. I've heard many not so good things about this, so I'm eager to see how much of a turd it really is... (sands of time rocked hard)

I'm going to load up Doom3 on my PC to compare it against that new movie trailer.
That FPS stuff feels wrong. I just need to figure out exactly how wrong it is!
And... Civ3: Conquests. Must... dominate... planet....

After reading the news on Capcom Classics Collection, I will now have to break out Kawaks and go on a nostalgic spree on CPS-1 classics!

Hulk : Ultimate Destruction. Possibly the second best game based on a liscense (first being Riddick). I have finally gotten the hang of precise movent and destruction. Once you get the hang of the Hulk he can bounce around dealing death like none other.

I really haven't been playing a lot of videogames this summer. Lots of reading and time with friends, really. I have played a bit of Dungeon Siege 2 though. Whenever I get the urge, I pretty much play it.

Aww you are so lucky, I wish I could play that for the first time again. Such a classic.
I'll be desperately trying to find decent PUGs in GW and when that doesn't pan out I think I'll give Arx Fatalis a go. Bought it ages ago and never got round to playing it so I guess it's about time.

Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress Classic get me for an hour every day at least. . . again.
CoH's Issue 5 isn't live yet, and I've tested it to the point of "if I play any more, I'll be committed to this character on Test instead of Live", so none of that.
Advance Wars on the DS. I'll probably return Nintendogs as I'm just left wanting a real dog after playing it. Petting a dog with my stylus is not nearly as fun.

I`m going through Theif : Deadly shadows again, I didnt quite explore the extremely rich and detailed world Ionstorm created the first time I beat it,i find this game more fun than metal gear and splinter cell combined. Also just installed Deus Ex IW...lets see what the hype is all about...
Rented a couple of movies too...Sahara and Identity. I just watched Identity and i have to say this is the best damn plot i have ever seen in my life.

I just re-installed Thief II:The Metal Age and I'm gonna play through that again and then try out some of the fan missions that I hear are pretty good. Then on to Onimusha 3, Ghost Recon:Summit Strike and Grandia II on the Dreamcast....arrrgh, so much to play and so little free time....

After beating RE:0 last weekend, I'm sort of in the mood for another survival horror game. I'm going to go through my catalog of unplayed games and see what I can find to keep me occupied this weekend. I'm severely hung over right now so I dont know when I will get cracking...I was hoping I'd be all over a game by now, but it's 9 am and I'm dead.

Well I have been running through Dungeon Seige 2 at an alarming rate... man that game is L-O-N-G. But I am getting a bit bored hack and slashing, and my e-bay shipmet came in; Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory (PC) & X-Men Legends (PS2). I have heard that they are both great and I know if I stop DS2, I will never pick it up again... What is a man to do?

It's so fricking awesome.
It's Bloodbowl the board game simulated with a java client. The website allows creation of teams and makes it very easy to match up with other players, get involved in tournaments, and have an awesome time over all. I loved Bloodbowl when I played it extensively in a league about 5-6 years ago. Several people moved and the game had been sitting in my garage since.
There are some damn good players on that site, too. If you want get a game going, PM there under coach name nesta.

Dungeon Siege 2...that is enough for me. It is the first game I have played regularly in some time. May fire something up on the X-Box as well...possibly the Far Cry Instincts. Loved the game on the PC, so I want to see how well it translates to the XBox.

Still more WoW. I rolled a rogue this week to see if it is indeed the easy mode I've heard about. So far, hard to say.
I will also probably end up playing some N64 hits at a friend's. Go Go Mario Kart.

Hmm, when I logged off on Wednesday from CoH, I had recieved a message that 5 was live. I must have misread it.
I think I'm going to play some Planescape:Torment this weekend. I just got to Sigil.
I also may play some Last Man Standing online. The LMS style game is pretty fun.

Nah, it hasn't hit yet. They did say August, and they usually do their updates on Tuesday...so it'd most certainly have to be the 30th. Just kinda wish it'd hit so we could get it over with. My controllers are -really- going to miss their multiple pets and AoE controls. ::Sigh:: :/

Wow. Some really good games being played this weekend.
It's really sad how much I look forward to this thread every week :p
Here's what I'm trying to fit in around my just worked 12 hour shift and my impending 8 hour tomorrow.
Dungeon Siege 2 (just got it yesterday)
WoW (doing some dungeon runs tomorrow)
Geist (very cool adventure dressed as a FPS)
Pandora's Box (just unearthed this crazy puzzle game from my stack of old games and it's got me hooked!)
I think I'm going to play some Planescape:Torment this weekend. I just got to Sigil.
Awesome choice zipR. I just played through Torment last year for the first time. Fantastic RPG.

Well, I'm on record as having named my first born after Garrett the thief (much to my wife's chagrin when she found out later) so I commend your choice. I played through Thief 3 this spring and it was fantastic. I didn't like the hub system but the missions and the story were probably some of the best of the series. I just hated the hub... And the loading times. Do you have the hi-res skin pack (http://www.graphics-by-john-p.com/textures/Thief-DS/index.shtml) on?
I also picked up a cheap copy of POP:WW. I've heard many not so good things about this, so I'm eager to see how much of a turd it really is... (sands of time rocked hard)
I have to say that I'm slowly becoming a convert to POP:WW. The beginning sucks so hard I actually traded it in 2 days after I bought it back when it came out. Now that I found it cheap and have actually worked my way through it, it's getting better. The generic rage that smolders (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php?date=2004-12-03&res=l) steadily at the beginning isn't really there anymore and the combat isn't as stupid as it is at the beginning.
That said, the platforming is as good or even better as it was in the original. The parts where the Dahaka stalks you are fantastic. It is different from Sands of Time and the storytelling is nowhere near as good though.
I think that they really botched the first, oh, 2-3 hours of gameplay. Once you get past that and are busy working on activating the towers the pacing gets better and the game becomes a lot more fun.

Maybe a little WoW
I've had Diablo II since it came out but never actually played it and i'm in the mood for some hack'n slash.
Might load up some Full Throttle, the mention of Sam'n Max has me in a nostalgic mood.

Battlefield 1942. Sad, I know. I was playing BF2 at work after hours during the week, but my PC at home just can't run it that well, but I needed the fix.
May throw in Halo 2 and/or Destroy All Humans for Xbox.
My long-lost copy of Battlezone has been unearthed. It's looking at me. Right now.

Let me know if you get that working! Crashes in XP no matter what for me.
I can run BZ2, but it's nowhere near as good...
Had to run MW3 and its expansion on a Win98 box, never would run in XP with newer nVidia driver.

I'm playing Mechwarrior 4 and next, its expansion.
Note to Microsoft:
For Vista launch, bring Mechwarrior V (ehm.. V is 5, not Vista) as the official launch game. Make it MMOFPS for all I care. Fuck Mechassault 3.

The key is to find a character that you like who has a name that isn't totally strange. Garrett's fine because it's a nice strong name from a game that the non-hardcore haven't even heard of, let alone know about the character.
Were I to name him Mario, Luigi, Bowser or Toad... well, that might raise some eyebrows.

My first son will be named Emperor, Avatar, or God. Something powerful like that.
If i had to pick a name from a game...how about Sephiroth? Kuja? King of All Cosmos?
