Some news today from Hexus.net (http://www.hexus.net). When Windows Vista ships, it will be Media Center enabled. This means media center functionalty out of the box and that functionality is extended to the XBox 360. Hexus has some screenshots (http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD0xNTIw) of the 360 connecting to the MC PC.
Man...that interface sure looks sleek on the HDTV.

Ok I just had a joygasm imagining Gears of War on a tv like that... But I can't imagine jumping on vista until sometime in 2007... Nice feature I guess but why not put the whole media center in the xbo360 already... <shrugs>

Before you guys get fired up: "One other downfall is that the Media Centre Extender can not play anything bar WMV9 encoded video, even if you do install the DIVX codecs on your main Media Centre system."
I'll mod my 360 as soon as I'll be able...

Was it just me, or was that article kind of hard to read? It seemed like it was run through the old Google translator or something.
And if you like that TV, you should see the one my brother has (http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/televisions/details.asp?id=52). It's nice.

The only thing you really can't do now is the video stuff. Windows Update recently added the "Windows Media Connect" panel to XP. With this the 360 can connect to your XP PC for Pics and music.
For those lookin for an HDTV we do have a thread in our forums (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4359) where i've been trying to post deals. W00T today has a 44" DLP for $1250 bucks....that's with shipping.

No, you can't load Media Center software on your PC, because it requires very specific hardware. I don't see why MS is requiring Media Center PCs. I can't believe they can't come up with some little program you could load on your PC that would act as a server and send stuff to the 360. I mean, you can stream shit to your tivo from your (non-media center) PC.

Morratut... You can get the OS somewhere, most likely bootleg oem versions online... Or you can have one of the store bought versions... So it'll still work with xbox 360, just not with your normal desktop os...

This is wrong. Media Center 2005 remedied that situation and it can be bought online (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832102311). I actually have it running on a shuttle box just fine. There are specific video tuners that are required though...but there's about a dozen or so. And see my other post about the "little" program.

Didn't the judge say projector gaming bad... O_o
Besides I don't have a basement/darkroom for that monster, although I do game mainly at night. ;)
If you have a 1080i/p can you go in and change the resolution to like 720p or are you stuck with what you have... I am wondering if you get a 1080p and xbox doesn't support it what the hell does the tv play?

No need for a modd'et Xbox :) buy this dvd player instead, it's pretty cheap and players nearly any videoformat , such as : vcd / SVCD / dvix 3.xx - 6.xx / xvid /vmv / quicktime / realvideo .It streams video, over lan or wireless network ;)

Projector gaming is gooood. The projector, TV allways translates incoming signals to its native resolution. Of course you would want to set the output of your box to match as closely as possible to the input for less translation.
