Yay, it's Comic Day! Click here (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48106) to join the discussion, and for a look at what you'll find in your local comic shop, head over to Diamond's New Release list (http://www.previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=6&s=430&ai=68805)
This week, on the indomitable Johnny Gigawatt and the Tiger Men from Mars (http://johnnygigawatt.com/) comic podcast, we take you on a merry trip around the world of comics. Dare you learn the secrets of the Rocky Revenge Squad?
Picks of the Week
Justice Society Of America #14 - I'm as big a JSoA fan as there is, but I'm starting to get a little bored with this 'Thy Kingdom Come' storyline. It's not bad, it just seems to be moving a bit too slowly. Hopefully this issue picks up the pace a little.
Titans #1 - A new book starring the classic Wolfman/Perez New Teen Titans lineup, all grown up. It's a Judd Winick book so expect some snappy dialogue, lots of casual sex and a Shock Ending that changes everything!!!. Which will, of course, but completely invalidated by the start of the next issue.
Nova #12 - Everything old is new again. That old saw holds true for comics as much as any other medium. In this case it's Warlock, the former New Mutant mainstay, coming back in the pages of Nova. Combine that with the tease on the last page of Young X-Men #1 and this may be the year of the New Mutants reunion tour.
Question of the Week - News came down this week that artist Ben Templesmith has signed an exclusive contract with IDW. More and more every day it seems like exclusives are the norm in the industry. But while they're good for the creators (notably giving them benefits like insurance and pension), it's not always so great for us the fans. So this week's question - Which writer or artist would you like to see freed from their exclusive contract?
