I wouldn't panic over Animal Crossing being pushed back until the 5th of December. Wasn't it scheduled to come out mid-November? An extra few weeks isn't going to hurt anyone.

There are many great games on the horizon! It's just too bad the horizon keeps getting further and further away...
Still, there's always a trade off between having a well polished game and meeting the release date. I much rather wait the extra bit of time personally.
My guess is Mario Kart DS is being pushed back slightly to do with the online component, that entire thing being new. Then again, that's nothing more than a wild guess.

Of course not, but it's when the weeks keep getting tacked on that we run into a problem. The way it was originally scheduled, we'd already be playing it.

Heh, this isn't too surprising. Just like every other game publisher out there, they all want that piece of the holiday season pie. Which once again means there will be so many games coming out at once, that I won't be able to get more than a few. *sigh*

Yes, but it's something we've all known about for a little while now.

I can see Animal Crossing slipping into next year.
Mario Kart is their flagship title, though, so I think that will be out for the holidays. Oddly I never thought about online Battle Mode (or lack thereof) until they announced it wouldn't be in the game. I don't know why I always just associated the online with racing only. I think it'll be good though, with more courses than any previous Mario Kart game.
And there is speculation that the Metroid Prime Hunters delay is to incorporate an online mode. God I hope that's true.

Hmm, theres a few games I'll have to pick up on the GBC list but as for GBA, I don't see anything too appealing :(.

I imagine at least a few of these delays are related to their online system. It would be a real treat if Metroid Prime Hunters is being delayed to add online support :)
Either way the changes (on the DS at least) are not that big a deal. Wasn't Mario Kart announced at launch last year? A week or two won't hurt anyone.

Looking at that list and factoring in the rather dubious pricing and hardware structure of the 360, it looks like the DS is going to be my primary gaming system until sometime next year. I'm going to wait on the 360 until I can tell whether or not the hard drive will actually be worth it (not to mention whether Perfect Dark Zero will be worth it), otherwise the DS has to hold me until Zelda.

First thing I thought was:
Metroid being held back? Whoo! Online play! Either way I'll buy Metroid I love the demo and still play it multiplayer with my friends when I can.
As for everything else ehh I guess I can wait, but why Shamu kids'll buy anything if it has an animal on the cover anyway.

I don't see how Animal Crossing and Mario Kart are delayed, considering they never had definitive release dates. Both had a pretty vague "November/December" timeframe, and this confirms that. Metroid though, that's a delay. Hopefully to add online.

What a surprise.

Seriously, who doesn't expect this, especially from Nintendo? I remember this being a huge problem (for me anyway) back in the N64 days. They'd only have 1 title every 6 months or so, so pushing back a release date was always really bad news for me. I'm glad now that I have every system (except PSP) I can just shift my dollars to other things.
Oh, and EB is speculating at least 04/01/06 on Zelda. I preordered in February (even though I know it didn't have a chance in hell of making summer/fall 05 release) and got an email from them yesterday telling me not to expect it until at least 04/01/06.

The Zelda delay was a major bummer, but these other titles aren't as big a deal in terms of their delays, a couple weeks is not worth getting upset about.

If you just bought a gamecube, you shouldn't care about something being pushed back. You have a HUGE backlog to hold you over. May I suggest...
Pikmin 1 & 2
Metroid Prime 1 & 2
Zelda Wind Waker
Resident Evil 4
Mario Sunshine
Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2
Mario Kart Double Dash
Ikaruga
Eternal Darkness
Alien Hominid
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Animal Crossing
Super Monkey Ball 2
