Nintendo (http://www.nintendo.com) and Jones Soda (http://www.jonessoda.com) are apparently teaming up to promote (http://www.jonessoda.com/files_new/contest-under-cap.html) Metroid Prime: Hunters. More info (http://www.jonessoda.com/files_new/contest-under-cap_FAQs.html).
I don't even drink soda, but now I have to go buy a case of Jones. /Nintendo whore

I have never heard of Jones Soda. Why would N use a fairly unknow soda company to promote a game? This smells fake.

Never heard of Jones Soda?! They're the ones who make great holiday soda flavors, like 'Mashed Potatoes' and 'Turkey and Gravy'. They really taste like it too!

What type of soda is Jones Soda? Is it supposed to be a pepsi/coke competitor?
Oh, I think I was better off not knowing the answer...

Who is the marketing genius behind this one?

They sell em at Panera, Target, and gas stations in my area.

I love how "I have never heard of" translates to Jones being "fairly unknown."

Yeah I dont know about the rest o the country but down here in Texas, Jones Soda is pretty popular at coffee shops, clubs and such. Their claim to fame... besides the turkey n gravy thing... is that all the photos on the bottles are submitted by regular people. Send your photo in... get some votes on their website and soon your photos circulating the country.

Jones seems to market itself as "hip" and "cool". That may be why a bewildered japanese marketing agent thought it was a good idea for N to team up with them.

I saw a bottle with metroid hunters on it a couple week ago, but i didnt realise there was a contest.

I dunno. Microsoft and Sony definitely act like Coke and Pepsi. Nintendo may be just kooky enough to be Jones. They even did some Tekken themed drinks once. (They also do the energy drink WhoopAss.)
And like Furtive said, before the whole turkey and gravy drink came out, they put drinker-submitted photos on their bottles.

I've seen them in Starbucks and the specialty area in grocery stores. I think one bottle of Jones soda cost the same as a 12-pack of Coca Cola. Pretty rediculous if you ask me, but then again many people shell out top dollar for small tins of Red Bull and other similar bad tasting stuff. It's the leet factor I guess.

Jones soda is an amazing little company, though I may be impartial since my nickname is "Jones."
My favorite product of theirs is their energy drink. It comes in cans or in cases. The name? Whoop-Ass. So at the local LAN you can quite literally open a can of Whoop-Ass.

Jones soda is pretty good. Well, at least some of their flavors. Green Apple and Pineapple Upsidedown Cake are pretty tasty. I don't know why Nintendo would team up with them, they are pretty indie.

I've loved this fellows for years. My first experience was probably 5 or 6 years ago when I noticed the bottle and said "Holy fuck, my name is on that pop!" Hooked ever since...
I saw the metroid label on a Jones and I've been collecting the tops but I had no idea what the contest was for. Heres hoping I get an O and can win a DS.

Jones Soda = teh delicious!
A little on the pricey side, but not 1 Jones = 12pack of Coke. I buy 'em as a treat for myself, rather than my normal grocery shopping drinkage.

I love Jones soda! Though I only drink green apple - I've never seen Pineapple Upsidedown before.
Yeah Jones does alternative adverts in skate shops and specialty apparel stores. A bottle of Jones is about 1.60 here.

Jones is some of the nastiest shit i've ever tasted. It's worse then the generic brands you get at supermarkets.

Jones soda is pretty cool. I'm into this.

I'd say it depends on what flavor you get. Some are wretched, but plenty are great, in my opinion.

Pretty true, only green apple tastes good to me so far, and for a lil bittie bottle there sure are lotta calories.

Ah, how is nintendo, in this promotion?
just because they are giving away a few nintendo prizes, doesnt mean nintendo is promoting their software through jones.
for one thing there is not one nintendo logo on that page, infact to even realise nintendo has products in that promotion u have to read sized 7 font.
(1) Nintendo GameCube video game system (ARV; $100), two (2) Nintendo DS video game systems (ARV; $150 each), three (3) Nintendo GameCube video games (ARV; $50 each); (2) Nintendo DS video games (ARV; $30.00 each) (all video games to be chosen at Nintendo’s sole discretion)
also, $610 of nintendo stuff doesnt really seem like a big promotion on nintendos behalf.
i think what is happening here is that jones asked nintendo if they could use some of their products in a promotion, and for some reason or another nintendo either sold it to them for a low price or ended up giving it to them.

I personly like berry lemonade and green apple.
Jones is based in Seattle, WA, NOA is in Redmond, WA so collaboration's easy. Jones caters to a crowd that probably enjoys Nintendo games so Nintendo does a promotion through them and everyone wins.
