I haven't even fired it up yet. I was busy last night with the free Halo 3 maps.

The new UI changes are for the better, and the new version of Omen is hawt. Not much change to me at lv 30.

Omen ?
Omen is one of the more popular threat meter add-ons for WoW, built with the Ace library.

Omen ?
Threat meter mod.
I jumped on and enabled all of my now out-of-date addons. Things seemed mostly stable as I ran through the new 5-man with a friend. He'd been through it twice already so he was pushing us pretty fast and I didn't really stop to enjoy the scenery. It's okay as far as instances go. We were already pretty decked out (myself being the lowest in s1/T4 gear) and we pretty much destroyed everything except for a couple wipes to Kael'thas.
I only did four of the new dailies. I'm probably not going anywhere near that Sunwell isle again for a few days. I got disconnected from server when I was about to land and had trouble logging back in afterwards. I'm on a high pop server (Mal'ganis) and it was pretty damn laggy just running around.

High level WoW players speak in a foreign language. I'm busy just questing and the 2.4 patch gave me insta-wolf with my shaman, so I'm happy.

Hopped back in last night to check out the new content. The tiny little island isn't all that fun on a PvP server, I think 75% of the server's Horde population was there, but Magisters' Terrace (The new 5-man) was a lot of fun, didn't take too long, and the Kael'thas fight was interesting, only took us four tries to down him. They also added in a few little things that impressed me with the 5-man, the first being the Heroic attunement after just one run, the second being a neat cut-scene that helped explain what was going on. It had a lot of elements of the WC3 cutscenes, as well as the ones in FFXI.
I'm not that bothered about the dailies right now, as trying to get anything done involves being ganked every 10 seconds.
I'm really impressed with a lot of the core UI things they've introduced, the awesome built-in combat log filters for one.
I don't think I'll be taking a crack at the 25-man with my guild until later, but so far a thumbs up on the new content.

Go into the Interface options, the whole screen has a new layout with several new options (empty bag space indicator being one I like).

Also how you manage the preferences for your mods is handled a lot better through a built-in modular add-on preference manager of sorts. Also, as I mentioned before, the built-in combat log filtering system is awesome, and is damned useful.
The only mod I really had trouble after the update was installing Trinity2, I had to recreate all of my buttons.

We usually use SW Stats, but it hasn't been updated for 2.4 and the current version doesn't play nice with the patch. Hoping they get this fixed soon.

That's kind of crazy! I got the same recipe about ten minutes after my last post.
Also, I really don't think the new 5 man is all that fun. The last two five mans that were added through patches (Maraudon, Dire Maul) were two of my favorite instances in the whole game, so color me disappointed!

I play a mage, and am certainly happy with some of the changes. Particularly the Icy Veins talent being uninteruptable from damage, and to a lesser extent, the decreased cost in mana for blink, and the new improved blink talent.
Finally, a mage has an alternative when a melee breaches their safe zone. Rather than limping away and dying, you can stand toe to toe and deal out some real pain to them. Not to mention what this will mean when facing hunters and warlocks with their little pets nipping at you when you're trying to cast.

Incredibly dissapointed at the complete and utter FAIL of blizzard at a pvp balancing act (as this patch was promised to be). I guess its easier to stack another 10 levels on and pretend to balance again in a year or so :)
Other than that, I like the new daily's, new zone seems purty good. Liked the 5 man (although I prefer less CC dependant instances), badge rewards = yummy.
Geebus the new Instance was hard, even on Norm.

I like that there is no longer a cooldown on arcanite transmutes. The daily where you turn in one mark from each PvP battlefield for a good amount of honor and gold is also a big plus.

Man, you're the second person to tell me that. I didn't like the wings, but I really liked the central area with all the waterfalls and the huge croc and everything.
Another thing I like about this patch: the spirit/mana regen buff! I play as a Moonkin, and got maybe...50-100 more mp5. I noticed a HUGE difference almost immediately.

Rather than make a new topic thought i'd post in this one.
I held off on doing dailies for awhile, but jesus christ. The SSO dailys are easy cash. I suprised myself. In 4 days, I'm up 750 gold, and 4440/12000 in revered with SSO. It's like 3k rep a day doing all the quests, and they're easy as crap. Why the hell didn't I ever do this before? I actually will be able to finally afford an epic flyer.

It's not really all that big of a twist if you've ever been to Kara; it's basically a knockoff Moroes fight.
Just like the first boss is a knockoff of the last boss from Steam Vaults or the third boss being a knockoff of Curator, also from Kara. The only unique fight in the entire place is Kael...and he's pretty easy, even on heroic.
It's an okay island; the dailies are numerous and bunched together and the badge rewards are disgustingly good. Magister's is a little too CC-heavy for my taste and all but the last fights are redecorated variations of fights they've already done before.

No, I didn't; my guild hasn't gotten that far yet.
It would appear be a direct lift of his 5th Phase in the Eye with the Phoneix thrown in for added fun.
My opinion of the dungeon dropped even more...the only thing saving it in my eyes is the sheer ease of the Kael fight.
Oh well.

I don't know, it seems to me that it would be a lot of work coming up with, balancing and testing new types of encounters. It doesn't bother me one bit that blizz recycles some of their raid boss fights in the 5 man instances because the large percentage of their player base never fully cleared Naxx and probably won't ever see Illidan.
I'll have to read up on that arena-esque 5v5 encounter, I've always wanted to see something like that. What is it called? Do they give you time to sit there and plan out the whole thing like the moroes fight? or do they throw you into it blindly?

So I jumped back in last night after a 6 month hiatus and it feels like a different game now. Unlimited arcanite transmutes? That's just not fair. I played last night for 3 hours and made 250 gold. Many little changes all over the place since I last left. It feels good to be back as I have motivation again. Kara.
