Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack Now Free on Marketplace

As stated on the weekly Inside Bungie (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=13399). The Heroic map pack is now a free download on the marketplace.

Now everyone is finally able to enjoy these maps.

I just downloaded them. They will hold be over until BlackOut comes out in the Legendary Pack

I realize hating Microsoft is cool and all, but it was known from the beginning that they'd be free at some point, so complaining about it now doesn't make sense.

They weren't the best maps ever, and should have been a couple bucks cheaper, but I feel like I still got my money's worth out of them.

I don't think it was known from day 1 that the Heroic map pack would eventually be free. I think Microsoft announced that shortly after they released it. So that doubly screwed people like me who would've been willing to wait for it to become free.

Yes, just like any other company that you buy from - you don't get a refund or a free product if you decided to be an early purchaser. By now you ought to know this. Unless you're 6.

And yes, they announced that it would be free before they released it. They just didn't set an exact date.

Sorry, I don't think my sarcasm really stuck out enough in my initial post. it's definitely business as usual for Microsoft. I must've not heard about the Heroic map pack being free initially. that being said, do we know if this new one is going to be free at some point down the line?

They've 'not commented' on the Legendary being free eventually. But with Halo 2, I believe all the additional map packs became free eventually so I wouldn't worry. You just have to wait.

I played them for the first time last night. They are ok, I'm happy I didn't pay the 10 for them though. These next ones will be worth it.

I personally love Standoff. I haven't found many people who do...but I love small, single-level open battlegrounds. I don't like Rat's Nest at all, only because I always get lost in that place.
