Welcome to Comic Day! That most magical of days in which men can fly, nobody stays dead, and grown women can fight crime in six inch stiletto heels. Click here (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46773) to join the discussion, or here (http://www.previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=6&s=430&ai=67998) to see what's going to be in stores this week.

This week on the Johnny Gigawatt and the Tiger Men from Mars podcast (http://johnnygigawatt.com/): A fun and far-ranging conversation with comics historian, writer and all around expert Scott Tipton of Comics 101 (http://www.comics101.com/). We talk about the old, the new, and most of all the fun in comics.

Picks of the Week
Batman And The Outsiders #5 - Rumor has it a pair of much beloved characters will announce their return to the DCU in this issue. If you want to see who it is (deduced through clues and statements by DC editorial), check the thread for the spoiler-safe answer.

Iron Man #27 - Could Iron Man be Marvel's hottest character? He has a movie coming out (the trailer of which can be seen here (http://johnnygigawatt.com/?p=42)), he's getting a second ongoing solo series (something only Spidey and Wolverine have at the moment) and he very well may be appearing in more books every month than Logan. He also has a very good, if somewhat under the radar, solo series right now. Charlie and Daniel Knauf have brought his old nemesis The Mandarin into the 21st century, and made him into a truly scary character in the process.

Angel After The Fall #5 - Are we in the golden age of licensed comics? More and more these days you have properties moving from other mediums - movies, TV, games and novels - into comics and, shock of shocks, actually tell good, compelling stories. The return of Angel is welcome to fans of the series (like me), but Bryan Lynch and crew still tell a great tale that uses the medium to full effect.

Question of the Week - The solicitations for the month of June are up from Marvel (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=13403), DC (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=13397), Dark Horse (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=13277) and IDW (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0803/17/idwjune.htm). So, what looks good, what looks bad and what looks interesting?
