Initial response: phew, this sucks ass. It's fun-ish when you have a decent team, but complete ass when people just grab the ball and run in to die like morons... so it's like every other game of Halo 3 I've ever played.
I'll play over the weekend off and on to rack up some Exp.
Edit: It's too bad they didn't make ALL ranked games double exp. Then I'd be all over Halo 3 all weekend long. But I have to play this bore-fest of a game type to get it? Ugh...
So what's this Grifball game type about.
To me it sounds like a Oddball/VIP hybrid. Can anybody tell me more about it?

Word. You missed a funny game of CTF on Isolation right after you left Tuesday. Me and silent pretty much walked back and forth between their base taking their flag whenever we damn well pleased. We hardly even saw the other team, and they outnumbered us 4 to 3.

you will need the dlc to play... its only on foundry. its a 4 vs 4 game where there is a neutral bomb. bomb carrier has overshield and a slight increase in speed. you have to arm the bomb on other side to score. the arm time is almost immediate so you can make a break for it and score if you are lucky enough. all players start with hammers and swords. i've played frist to 3 and first to 5 so I know of atleast 2 gametypes.

A. Team SWAT starts on the 20th of March, not tomorrow.
B. Team SWAT is a NO SHIELDS game variant. You die very fast in these game types. Hope ya got a quick trigger finger!
C. Griffball needs the DLC, but Bungie didn't say if Team SWAT needs the DLC or not.

This weekend finally got me back to playing Halo 3. I am going to miss grifball a lot though. We should arrange some EvAv games. pm me if interested
Same here Grifball is cool as long as you're in a decent team.
SWAT sounds nice too, I also played some different Infection gametypes in custom games this weekend and a game type called BOXING which basically lets 8 players spawn in a 10x10 box :)
Seems like I will play more HALO again if they continue with the double XP weekends.
