Dungeon Siege II v2.1 Update Patch

Officially not in stores yet, Microsoft has already released a small patch for Gas Powered Games' RPG sequel Dungeon Siege 2.

Dungeon Siege II casts players into a land deeply scarred by civil war, where they will lead an elite battle party against a vicious marauder hell-bent on bringing the world under his control, no matter the cost. Dungeon Siege II raises the bar for action-RPGs by introducing a deeper storyline, an extensive quest system and a new AI system creating more challenging and cunning foes.This update brings your Dungeon Siege 2 retail game to v2.1 and addresses a few GameSpy related issues.

All the fixes are Gamespy related, so I'm guessing that either their Gamespy testing was late or that Gamespy made some changes that caused some last minute changes. Strange, though.

As a software developer, I can say that nothing is ever bug free, and so I am not surprised when bugs are found after the "gone gold" declaration of a game. It all really just depends on what the bugs are that are being fixed on day 1.

Wasn't it Diablo 2 where the patch was released two or three days prior to release? I'm just glad that patches get released without undue pain and suffering (like with TOEE).

From what I've seen DS was acquirable last week sometime, and they discovered a sound bug, so this could be a fix for that too.

If it ships today (and it does) then it's in stores tomorrow. I suppose that may depend on your location (geographically) but mostly, tomorrow.

I'm confused, as Gamestop is still telling me that Dungeon Siege 2 won't be in until the 23rd... I sure hope that isn't true, as being behind a few days is one thing, but almost an entire week?

I was about to say the same thing. All the other sites say today/tomorrow, but gamestop.com says Aug 23. I guess I'll be stopping by this evening just in case. A phone call is likely the best way to confirm.

My gamestop of choice confirmed it will be tomorrow. If it weren't for this job thing, and those things called bills, I would take the day off... Sometimes I wish I were still in college where the biggest question was whether or not to go to class.

Anywho, my Gamestop said tomorrow as well. I suspect any Gamestop employee who says the 23rd is smoking crack.

Honestly, it's probably a glitch in the application Gamestop uses, a typo or something.
