GDC Bionic Commando and Far Cry 2 Gameplay Videos.

Gamersyde (http://www.gamersyde.com/index_en.html) has some pretty fricken awesome (BOOM!) gameplay videos of both Bionic Commando (http://www.gamersyde.com/news_6006_en.html) and Far Cry 2 (http://www.gamersyde.com/news_6007_en.html) from GDC.

Based on what I have seen so far both these titles are must buys for me.

I have to admit that I don't have sound right now, but the Far Cry 2 demo looked very much like a tech demo. While that stuff looked really cool, what first interested me about this game were the claims of the open ended narrative and gameplay as well as procedural AI and such. That's the kind of stuff I want to learn more about.

Seconded. Graphics looked good. But the way the dude falls when he misses a jump looks corny.

My main gripe is that it's so obviously a nostalgia play - it's the gaming equivalent of that Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.

Just finished Far Cry 2 video. Wow. If they got rid of the guys arms and possibly even the gun, it would look even better. Great tech demo.

The Bionic Commando video actually looks for the most part fun. Some of the stuff in the distance looked kind of patterned, but that will more then likely be fixed before release. The free fall animation looks fine. The limp fall looks a little weird to me. I seriously hope the first few levels are very open and let you play around, in order to get used to some of the movement mechanics.

Rearmed looks good though. I'd sign up for more "graphic" updates like that for (super) Ghouls n Ghosts. Hell every decent Konami or Capcom game from the snes, nes days.

Far Cry looked pretty darned good, I'm excited to see just how far they can take it. I did like the guy's comment when they were showing the trees growing, "That won't be in the game, of course...because it looks really weird."

Bionic Commando didn't look that bad either - looks like it'll be pretty fun to experiment with his arm in 3D like that.
