Finally a Hello Kitty game for the GC!
At least the new PSP game isn't another racer.

Anyone know what's so ultimate about the Ninja Scroll dvd?

I am kinda interested in Sigma Star Saga. It's an RPG combined with a side scrolling shooter, could be fun.

Sigma Star Saga does look pretty cool. Where did these new GBA "retro packs" come from, and is the emulation any good? Haven't heard anything about them until now. The actual grouping of games looks pretty weak, though. Yars Revenge on the go would be fun, but Pong? I might have to break down and get Sonic Gems collections, too. It'd be nice to finally play Sonic CD, as I never had the original or Saturn port.

That ultimate ninja scroll dvd looks like it is the tv series, at least according to the imdb link in the op.

Thinking about metal slug 4&5, don't know if it is worth bothering to get the xbox out of the closet.

Probably get ds2, just because I want a new pc game. I don't even think I like ds2, yet I feel some need to buy it. As if, perhaps, it gets significantly better at some point than it is in the demo.

Anybody know what kind of extra's the Sincity DVD contains? Will the be an uber l33t extra duper ultimate edition that is worth the money in a month or two?

You mean other than 4 random slip covers, a Behind the Scenes Featurette, 3 different audio tracks and Spanish subtitles?

Nothing.

I'm gonna Netflix it to get my fill and buy the (hopefully) forthcoming SE version.

Actually, about Sin City -- I've been told by a movie fanatic friend who follows the industry closely to JUST RENT this release. There will be a 'special edition' version out by Christmas that will contain all sorts of good bonuses, whereas, as Bgivnin said, this one contains nearly nothing. So hold tight. I'll be renting it Wednesday to show the friends who haven't had the chance to see it yet.

Anyone try Dungeon Siege II demo? How is it? I've gotten back into Diablo II, but I think I need something fresh to play.

I downloaded the 1.5 GB demo and I can say they definitely have increased the role-playing aspect. There is definitely more of a story now. There is more character diversity available. Before dropping the $49.99, I would download the demo. It is long enough to give you a taste of what to expect.

Don't expect Baldur's Gate III in this game. It is the tried and true hack n' slash model but impressively improved over the first game nonetheless.

Dungeon Siege 2 seemed like a fairly healthy mix of the original DS with Baldur's Gate. Certainly not half as deep as BG, but much more story-telling, if that's what you're looking for, and a lot more control over your characters as well.

I'm trying to NOT buy Dungeon Seige II because it isn't worth $50, but it is worth $30. . . I may be a victim of the summer lull and throw far too much money at that game though. Nice time to release a good, but not great title IMO.

I'm pretty stoked that I can finally get "That's So Raven" though.

Like Kefkataran said... WAIT on buying the Sin City movie.. A packed 2 disk DVD set is coming out at Christmas.. Deleted scenes.. the comics on disk.. etc..

The one coming out tomorrow has almost nothing extra on it.

I cant wait for DS2.. I worshiped the first one.

I read Gamespots review.. and once again I was like   They are really "too cool for the room" now. Not just on this review but others as well. EVERYTHING they critiziced about DS2 I was like YES YES GOOD!!

The first words out of their mouth (on the video review) .. was ".. its more of the same!" As I was saying "GOOD" the reviewer was saing .. "and thats bad" LOL!!!!

Painkiller Black is also coming out for those who never got the original+expansion. Plus it's a DVD edition with some extras.

I wanna know a little more about sigma star saga...I love shumps and this looks to combine some RPG elements...I'm not into RPG's technically, but the 'elements' could add more depth to the shmup.

Sonic Gems with Sonic CD. That will be rad. It's also got some Saturn titles I've never played.

What extras, out of curiosity? I own Painkiller, but not the expansion. Still, I might be willing to buy this for the extras+expansion if the price is right.

For those that don't care much for Extras, but care about quality...the disc tomorrow does contain a DTS track. w00t w00t.

God fucking DAMMIT... I HATE when they do this shit... you wanna put out a vanilla version AND super-duper version? Fine! But fucking do it at the same fucking TIME god dammit! Gah! fucking ASSHOLES...

yes, I'm pissy today. But I feel that way about regular vs. super edition DVD releases even when I'm in a good mood.

Surprised noone has commented on the bizzare simpsons season 6 DVD set cover. I was going to write a rant on it myself, but then discovered it's just a extra cover and inside the collection is boxed the same as the first 5. So you're not stuck with that tacky homer head.

Well, inside it's not the same as the other 5, I'm not sure who told you that. I got it along with Sin City on Saturday (dvdplanet.com ships prereleases nice and early, very cool). I think changing the theme every five seasons is an interesting idea, though I would have preferred more consistency.

However, inside the head is this little piece of paper that says:
"For all those that fear change...
For all those anal-retentive nerds who like their DVD boxes to line up perfectly on the shelf...
For all those who dislike storing their digital media inside a hollowed-out human head, have we got a deal for you:
Just call..."
then they give an 800 number you can call to get a box like the other sets. Makes me curious to know what the alternate box is like. But it also helped me see I'm not QUITE anal enough to actually call.

DVDTalk has an audio (MP3 format) interview with Frank Miller on the Sin City DVD, Jessica Alba lack of nudity, and other titbits. It's about 8 minutes long. CLICK HERE (http://www.dvdtalkradio.com/DVDTalkInterviewFrankMiller.mp3) for the goodness.

It wouldn't have helped anyway -- the number on the flyer is a misprint (it's actually a 1-888 number). Apparently there's a corrected version out there but not everybody got that one.

For everyone who said they were interested in Dungeon Siege 2, my Fry's Electronics in Phoenix has advertised they are selling it for $34.99 on thursday, and I presume that will apply to Fry's in other places.
