Xbox.IGN (http://xbox.ign.com/) has posted one of the first reviews (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/641/641672p1.html) of the Western Horror FPS, Darkwatch. The rated it a 7.9 out of 10. The reviewer loves the controls and the multiplayer but states that the single player mode falls short.
Here's a bit about the multiplayer features offered on the PS2 and Xbox versions.
What ultimately saves Darkwatch from becoming "just another decent first-person shooter," though, is its excellent multiplayer features. This is particularly true of the Xbox version of the game that boasts extensive Live capabilities and 16-player simultaneous craziness. There's a slew of cool modes available to Internet players too, including the traditional deathmatch and team deathmatch, capture the flag, and soul hunter. The stage designs and vampire powers are put to much better use on these maps when compared to single-player as well, and I can foresee people spending a lot of time with it long after they've finished with the story campaign.
Regrettably for PlayStation 2 users, the multiplayer aspects don't extend online at all and are limited to an exclusive two-player co-op feature. It's a lot of fun, but it's definitely no supplement for the superb Xbox Live Internet play. To its credit, High Moon has thrown in a few other PS2 exclusives to sweeten the pot even further (a special grenade type known as "splitters" and an extra level with an armored locomotive boss among them), but if you have both systems and are on the fence as to which one to get, the Xbox's multiplayer makes it a no-brainer.
Release Date: 08/16/2005 (XBOX (http://www.gametab.com/xbox/darkwatch/2925/), PS2 (http://www.gametab.com/ps2/darkwatch/2926/))
I enjoyed the demo and this game will be in my Xbox come Tuesday night.

I'm interested in the game because of its blend of themes. Any game that gets a 7/10 or over is a good game and will get a play from me.

The game looks cool, but I have neither the time nor cash for it as I head back to school... :(

Very cool premise indeed and you just can't get enough western action these days. I have to admit I still love Outlaws so I'll deffinitely have to check this out.

This is just ridiculous. What the crap is up with companies putting tons of extra features into the PS2 version to make up for the fact that it's not a good enough system to support all the Xboxs features? As a customer, I think it's ridiculous that there's content for the game that I'm not getting as an xbox owner becuase they felt a need to make the PS2 version look as good in comparison by adding extra stuff to it. I'm officially stating that no company that pulls crap like this will ever get my money.
I could care less about Deathmatch play, and would love co op play. But, oh, what do you know, I have an xbox. I guess i'm screwed. Kiss my butt darkwatch...

I agree Jaz, there's no reason why the Xbox version shouldn't have co-op as well. If I want to play co-op with a buddy I'm forced to do it on the inferior system. That is moronic.
It's a shame too because I really enjoyed the demo. I'll be renting this one.

When I played the demo it made me think of Blood, the old PC game. That sold it for me.

EA pulled this same thing recently with NHL 06. The PS2 doesn't have the enhanced replay, commentary, and graphical features, so they threw in all of NHL 95 on the PS2 to compensate. It's not like the XBox disc wouldn't have held NHL 95, too. That's just not fair.
I was watching an interview on Gamespot and the EA guy was like "so.. really.. in order to get the whole NHL 06 experiance, a person could actually just get ALL the versions!". He was joking, but I was like "okay.. that's not even funny"

I can't wait for this game to give Jack Thompson an aneurysm.
I've been looking forward to this game since it was first announced. Its gameplay looks amazing and the theme is intriguing. I don't care what any reviews say, this game will own.

The demo was really good for the Xbox.
This is a review round up for the game from Game Rankings.
Game Pro 4/5
Play Magazine 9/10
Game Informer 8.5/10
I was getting sick of all the WW2 and Modern Combat shooters out there. This is sounding like an awesome alternative.

This is near the top of my rental list at Getgames. I'm not in a rush to play it, but it definately is one of the titles that's been on my watch list for interesting games to try.
It'll definately hold me over till We Love Katamari and Shadow of the Colossus come out.

Graphically, the PS2 might not be up to par with the other two consoles, but - overall - the games that system has (not the amount of games, the games themselves) are much better than those of the Box. So, one could easily argue, that the PS2 is actually the least inferior of the gaming systems out now.

One could also argue that the percentage of AAA titles on gamecube is greater than that of x-box, and significantly greater than that of ps2 when one compares AAA titles vs. other titles for a given platform.
Or, simply put, the gamecube library has a higher percentage of AAA titles than can be boasted by the other two consoles and that gamecube is arguably the least inferior of the gaming systems.
lies, damned lies, and statistics. heheeheh.

I'm afraid that doesn't really make much sense to me. I'm assuming you own a PS2 and are happy with it, and that is fine, but on paper and in practice, the Xbox is a more powerful machine. A game developer shouldn't be concerned with adding features to the system that has "overall the most quality games". The developer should be concerned with putting out the best quality product them can, period.
I'm not saying this because I'm an Xbox fan, I'm just saying it becuase it's a ridiculous practice. I will be saying the same thing if, in five years, the Xbox 360 is getting added features to it while the PS3 version of games are getting intentionally (forgive me) nerfed.

From a hardware standpoint, yes, the PS2 is probably the most inferior (unless people really put the time into it a la God Of War). I think what Blue's arguing isn't the power of the machine as much as the sheer volume of quality exclusive titles that the PS2 has.
The Xbox is great for the multi-platform titles and the online stuff, but it doesn't really have a lot of exclusive titles on it. It has some, and they're pretty good, but compare it to the PS2 which has a lot of quality exclusives and Blue's arguement makes more sense.
And the Cube has the ratio of AAA titles to games released won easily, but that's just because it has the strongest first-party releases and the weakest (and least) third-party/multi-platform titles.
That pretty much breaks down what I tell people when they ask me that horrible question, "Which system is the best?" I have to ask them what they want to play and what matters most to them.

Hey! The Virtual Boy has colour... it's just red... Eye-destroying, migraine-inducing red...

That is exactly the point I was trying to make in regards to the PS2. And to Jaz: I own the Box, PS2, Cube, PSP, DS, Blah Blah Blah. About 20+ systems because I'm a whore like that. Anyhoo, the point is, I realize the Box is the 'stronger' of the systems in terms of what's under the hood, but the stuff you put under said hood to play is actually what's most important.
