Can I please have a list of any improvements to these things in order of importance.....
A: The Grind (it was too slow for my taste in MMOs)
B: End game (I never made it there but loved the 1 time danger missions)
C: Loot/Crafting (The game needed it badly)
D: Costumes (The reason we all bought the game)
E: Other social fluff such as collectables ect... (I love shit in wow like holiday goodies, social pets, and goofy engineering stuff)
My characters were a Kenetics/Energy Defender, Invul/Energy Fists Tanker, Zombie/Plants Mastermind, and a Thug/Pistol Mastermind so these classes I would especially be interested in major changes to.
Thank you in advance I'm getting pretty burned out on WoW after our guild has hit a brick wall in SSC/TC and I might give CoX another try since I've heard rumors it's improved after Cryptic split.
A. Yes, they've just implemented "Xp curve smoothing" which should help get over those "hard" levels, and over all made it easier to level.
B. No, no real endgame yet.
C. Yes, the game has gotten a crafting / loot system now, which is quite useful.
D. Yes, more of those aswell :D
E. There are more badges?

I liked CoH, but one thing always bugged me. The fact that I never really felt like a super hero.
I mean, I want to be able to plow through big gangs of street thugs with bodies flying everywhere. Not have to pull them one at a time or get beaten down.
It was a fun game though. I never really got that far so maybe it got more "super hero-ish" later on. I think my highest level was 15 or so. It kind of got a bit grindy after that.

Did they fix it where some powersets are just BETTER than others? Such as robots for mastermind combined with force fields, I got tired of my mastermind as I could just keep everything knocked down and beaten by bots.
There used to be a few other powersets that just WON.
The thread title on the side bar said "Have not played CoX..."

Its... a little better. Some new sets are in (Not many) That are pretty decent. Dual Blades I've heard is able to do a lot of damage.
However: Blasters still have trouble soloing, Dominators are laughable, Brutes/Tanks/Scrappers/MM's have no trouble being solo masters...
I'd go back to CoX in a heartbeat if they just made it so my mastermind didn't have to buff *every* damn pet twice *every* time I went into a mission. Dear god, just make the buff AOE already, I hate having to sit through the same 10 animations for 2 minutes everytime I go into a mission... meanwhile a Brute would go in *poof* and probably be done by the time I'm done setting up.
Still, pretty game though and some fun weirdness. If you need a new game though, something just went into Closed beta:

I kind of want to check this game out, but not sure what the difference between City of Heroes and City of Villians is?
Also is there a free demo?

Two "sides" of the same game. Both use the same engine, but have different classes/quests/areas. Theres a few crossover areas and you can chat between games on the same servers.
Demo: Yes, but not sure where to find the free trial lately. There are buddy codes, and a 1 dollar DVD with demo codes for it, guildwars and lineage all together.

Oh god! It's an asian MMO! Looks like another grindfest if you catch my drift.

PM me with your e-mail address, and I'll send a 10-day free trial code your way. There used to be a 14 day trial floating around that needed no referral, but neither Filefront nor Fileplanet seems to have it anymore.

It wasn't always like this. It was better once, before the dark times, before the Nerf Wars.

Holy fuck that thing's alive? I'd already written this off like 5 years ago as vaporware that they'd just forgotten to take the site down for.

It's way better these days, Jack Emmert (the nerf king) is gone. Every class can solo missions, to some extent (though some are obviously more group oriented than others). There are way more missions these days, and on top of that there are newspaper missions which are basically limitless, so you never have to resort to grinding. There are now more types of missions (especially in the newer zones, like the revamped Faultline and the Rikti War Zone), and a lot more TFs. Plus they smoothed out the XP bumps this week so that leveling is more consistent (as well as easier all around).
