I guess she got bored with protesting in the United States. (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8UPMN401&show_article=1)
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan joined a protest Wednesday seeking the support of Egypt's first lady in ending a military trial of members of the country's largest Islamic organization.
Under the watchful eyes of dozens of black-clad and helmeted anti-riot police, some 50 heavily veiled wives and children of 40 senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood detained for the past year, gathered in front of the headquarters of first lady Suzanne Mubarak's National Council Women carrying banners calling for their release.
"I am here to protest the trial of civilians in front of a military tribunal as this is a violation to international law," said Sheehan, who gained fame in the U.S. for her sit-in outside President Bush's Texas ranch following the death of her son in Iraq.
"As a mother of a son who was killed in the war, I presented a letter to Ms. Suzanne Mubarak to realize how those women and children are suffering."
Would Egypt please keep her for a little while? Pretty please?

This woman is so desperately trying to relive the 60’s with whatever cause she can latch on to. At least she finally realized no-one in the U.S. was paying attention to her anymore. Still, I feel sorry for those people in Egypt...you know, the ones who have to suffer her now.

Sigh....one can dream.

As much as I think she needs to just shut up...she did lose her son in the war.
I probably would go somewhat batshit if that happened to me.
Just saying. But yea, this is a little overboard, to say the least.

I would go a bit nuts as well (I have lots of kids, but only one son), but I would take pride in his service, which I don't think she does or even can, sadly.

Using your son's death in a war to push your own fucked up agenda nullifies any sympathy I'd have for her.

Don't get me wrong, I still think she's a fucking wacko, but maybe she just went nuts from her own grief. People take shit like that in a lot of ways.
From barely being affected, to winding up in a nuthouse.
But no, I don't think it justifies her little "crusade".

I don't know...I've never lost a loved one - nevermind a son or daughter - in a war. I think that unless you have, you're really just talking out of your ass.

Bullshit - the human ability to empathize is what separates us from all other species.
I hate it when people act like their lives are such unique snowflakes that no one could understand.
Except in this case I guess I can't empathize with being batshit crazy woman.
Edit: I'm not even going to pretend that I personally can empathize with this, but any parent need only to sit down and imagine their child dying to understand it.

Yeah, she lost her son in the war, but as someone said, she is using that to push her own agenda now. I can't imagine that her son would want his memory, or the memory of his fellow soldiers, disgraced in that way. Lots of people have lost children in Iraq, and most of them manage to remain quite sane, perhaps realizing that they believed they were giving their lives for something bigger.
Of course, she has the right to say what she wants, and I wouldn't infringe on that just for her. Those people who protest at soldiers' funeral on the other hand...

We've firmly established that the Westboro Baptist church needs to DIAF.
Yea...I went there. ;)

Going to another country and telling them who they should release from prison/ military trials. I wonder if she looked into their cases and discovered that the Egypt government didn’t have any evidence on them. Because there’s a chance that these guys once released won’t go back to their families; they’ll go back to planning attacks on Egypt. And will Sheehan take responsibility for every civilian/government official they kill if she succeeds in getting them released? It's not like they don't have a terrorist problem over there.

Of course she would. She'd take that responsibility...and then place it squarely on Bush's shoulders one way or another. After all, everything from the extinction of dinosaurs to me stubbing my toe this morning has been caused by our President!

So which is it? It's bullshit because, as a homo sapien, you can empathize or you can't empathize and thus don't know what losing a child in a war you disagree with would do to your mental state?
Listen, try not to let your hatred toward the 'persona' of Sheehan cloud the fact that people can lose their minds when they lose children. It's happened before and will happen again. You can dislike her because of how she channeled that emotion, but some of the people in this thread, with their calls for violence against her are clearly talking out of their ass.

When she camped out in Texas I thought it was a noble stand. You lose your kid and you want answers. I can get behind that.
Then I began to notice how she became just another attention whore who was protesting anything. And lost respect for her.

HUMAN BEINGS can empathize.
I, personally (as I said PERSONALLY) can not. I don't have children.
