"Hey, I was just lighting up this crack pipe and wondered if anyone wanted a puff?" ;)
There are a few die-hards here, but most have moved on to games that have an ending and a feeling of accomplishment.
Check the MMO forum and you should be able to figure out which server some of the EvAv'ers are on.

VASHJ has a Horde-side PvP guild on. If you roll on it, send me your character's name in a PM and I'll try to get you added.
And I'm sorry you couldn't win at WoW, B_B. Good thing there are plenty of other easier games out there, eh. :D

I just started a Dark elf hunter on sentinels server. It's a role playing server, so it's fun to rehash some of the godawful dialogue from Two Worlds. The game is kinda growing on me, I like the fact that alot of the stuff so far was easily done solo.

How many 6-hour raids do you have to grind through before you win?

Win? There's no win.
There's "Top-Tier Guilds" that raid night in, night out to be considered the best, only to have their gear replaced by greens and blues as soon as the next expansion hits. Then they do it all over.
I'll stay off the treadmill, thanks.

That's too generalizing, I think. You get good loot and you head on to the harder bosses and raid instances. It's not like they're all exactly killed the same way....there's different strategies for each one. Raiding takes a lot of work and coordination and every time you down a boss with 9 other people, there's always a feeling of accomplishment. So there's plenty of 'win' going on, even if you're not a "Top-tier Guild".

Know what another term is for winning, but not winning the most? Loser.
But what really matters is if your enjoying it. Wow is sometimes even fun to lose at.

I guess you don't play any EA Sports games, or any game with <Game Title n+1> for a name, or any FPS that's come out since Doom.

Did you roll a Horde character on VASHJ server? If so, what's your character's name?

if they are online.
If they are offline find a mailbox and rightclick on it, and you can send them a mail.

Oh god, another one gets hooked. I just quit WoW for LotRO. I'll admit it's not quite the same game as WoW but it works better for me.
I played on Dark Iron because, as a raging fanboy, I wanted to be in the Penny Arcade Alliance. I was, and it was fun, but not enough to keep me in WoW.
I play on Dalvngyr on Alliance side. Got a level 70 there too. :)

Oh, so the emote system is pretty much the same as Everquest? I played that for a bit.

Like most all MMOs (I would bet exactly all of them), the chat servers are basically modified IRC servers. You just have to learn the calls and limitations specific to each game.
Every game's chat system is going to be basically the same because of this.

I play Horde on Vek'nilash. Nothing special about the server other than a couple guys I work with play there. Guild is pretty cool, just serious enough about raiding to feel a sense of accomplishment, without the crazy competition, raid attendance minimums, etc that you get with the really hardcore guilds.
We are working on SSC, having only started raiding the 25-mans by ourselves in the last 3 weeks. We also have Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon on farm.

The key to enjoying WoW is playing it with RL friends AT THE SAME LEVEL. don't get sucked in to joining your friend's server who's already got a level 70 character because he's always going to be busy during "Prime Time" anyway.

I actually play this entirely solo never been in a group never been guilded hit 56 the other day. I will usually log in once or twice a week burn through the bonus xp and then log off and repeat.
You just have to play MMOs at your own pace and not get drawn into what everyone else does.

So why not just play an offline RPG then? Seems more cost-effective to me.
