There's nothing better than beating up a dead hooker in purple sweatpants.

It looks like it may take place in Greece. Or Italy. What with the Greek/Roman ruins.
Which makes it even funnier.
The new Saints ride around on Vespas doing drive bys on thugs in SmartCars.

I'm super, SUPER excited for this to come out.
Maybe even more than GTA IV, sadly.

We continue to call Wendy's that around my school. :)
I loved Saint's Row. It was GTA with a ton of improvements. Honestly, I can't think of any other clone that has surpassed the game it has cloned in so many ways.

Screens look decent. But sadly I've totally had it with GTA and it's clones.
Mercenaries and Just Cause 2 look like a tastier proposition.

Saint's Row was better than any of the GTA games, so Saint's Row 2 is a no-brainer for me.

If you ever feel like doing the co-op let me know. I've had the game for months and never tried any of the online stuff.

Ya saints row was better than any of the gta games. But the new gta is supposed to have better combat and from the screens I have seen SR2 has nothing on gta4. People tend to forget how long ago the last ps2 gta game was released. For it's time there was nothing out there that was better. But ya it was on ps2 so it had to suck lmao.

I didn't see any dead hooker in purple sweats! :D
Game looks cool though. Hopefully it's as fun as the first one.

Loved the first, but this doesn't really look like much of a leap, in fact... attack helicopter?? WTF???
I have faith in Volition, and co-op play throughout the single player game does sound awesome... I anxiously await more news.

Without going into too much detail, I'd say you both smoke crack.
GTA gameplay, story, voice acting, overall quality will continue to shadow clones. Not that I don't appreciate other sandbox city games, they all bring something new to the party. But GTA is still king.

I'm sure I'm missing some kind of inside joke, but that's just ugly. :(

You do? I remember that they said that they couldn't do airplanes/helicopters on the 360, because the system couldn't handle it. Just Cause, which came out around the same time had them anyway. I'm not saying that Saint's Row wasn't fun, but it was a GTA clone (with some improvements) that took itself way too seriously.

God...2 sandboxes to play in this year? For my wife and family, this will be worse than football season, Halo 3 release and GoW release all rolled into one.

Adding my name in to those wondering where this Co-Op information is. If that's split-screen, this game just became a must-buy.

Will the humour be above that of a 14 year olds this time? Killed the last one for me.

too serious? I thought it made fun of itself quite a bit though I thought the comedy was hit-n-miss.

My thoughts exactly. I thought Saint's Row poked fun at itself A LOT. I never for once actually thought it was taking itself too seriously.
On the other hand, while the humor is better, I always thought the GTA games took themselves too seriously.

How could anyone that beat the game think the game took itself seriously. I mean...really?

From the official press release, which can be found on the game's official site (http://www.saintsrow.com). Or this snippet from THQ's website:
Saints Row 2 is set years after the original Saints Row™ in a Stilwater both familiar and strange. The explosive conclusion to Saints Row has left the player wounded, betrayed and thirsty for revenge, and now it’s time to take back the city that has forgotten him. A sequel to the first open-world title on next-generation consoles, Saints Row 2 features all new customization options, including gender, age, voice, crib and gang customization. The sandbox just got larger with a totally transformed and expanded city of Stilwater, offering all new locations to explore with new vehicles, including motorcycles, boats, helicopters and planes. Saints Row 2 will be playable online in 2-player co-op through the entire single-player campaign or in the all new open-world competitive multiplayer mode never before seen in the genre.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't one. I could swear that I looked the other day and there was no demo. I'll check again tonight.
Torr - I'm sure I'll pick it up sometime. You and a few other posters here have sung it's praises enough that I want to play it. :p

Live a little! Buy it!
Really enjoyed the first one, had a great time with it. I still believe GTA to be the better of the 2 without question but that in no way diminishes how much I enjoyed SR. Can't wait to play GTA IV and I can't wait to play SR 2.
