This documentary is admittedly a long piece to digest at 3 hours long, but each episode is mostly self-contained. It aired last year on the BBC, and it's a great piece of documentary making, regardless of whether you agree with the conclusions that Curtis ultimately comes to as to the ultimate nature of human society and freedom and where it places our modern world. He's certainly no Michael Moore, everything is very well researched and founded in every kind of academic department, from political sciences to theology, psychology and mathematics.

Part III "We Will Force You To Be Free"

The second part is my favourite if you're short on time, but I really do recommend the whole thing.

I watched these a few times last year - as you said, there's a lot to digest; it sent me back to look at some of the political philosophy I studied in college a couple years ago. If you like it I suggest you check out The Power of Nightmares, another 3-part documentary by Adam Curtis about the rise of radical Islamism and the Neoconservatives.

Edit: Found 'em

Yeah, that power of nightmares movie is pretty awesome - apparently it won't air here in the US.. I got DVDs of it with my Wholphin subscription.
