View Full Version : Auto Assault Interview
Pro-G (http://www.pro-g.co.uk) sat down with NetDevil's Design Director Ryan Seabury to chat about the game. In the last part of our interview, we talk about the final stages of development, casual gamers, Blizzard and destructible environments. If you haven't read part one (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/previews/pid/424/113/) yet, go and check it out.

Cool. I say bring it on. I'm all for casual MMOs, so I'll be sure to check it out at some point if the reviews are good.
You know, NCSoft really oughtta make some sort of payment system like SOE's where you can pay one flat fee to play all of their online games (and maybe get free GW updates as well?). I would hop onto that so fast.
yeah, you'd think that is something they must be considering. They have so many decent MMOs out now and coming soon.

I would have loved to play in the beta of AA that I'm in, but those "test windows" are bullshit.
Anyhoo, I cooled on this when I saw they are going for more of a high-future car game than a post-apocalypse car game. Cars that turn into robots, monster truck style? No thanks.
For the last time, it was called "AUTODUEL" - Go get the books, program the fucking game in 3D, and put on your money hat.
I remember playing AutoDuel on my very old PC. Running delivery missions, competing in the arena, upgrading my car, and just the worst graphics even for that time.

The pen and paper (and cardboard cutout) game was incredibly in-depth. Just like Warhammer, the rules have been tried and tested for decades and time-proven to both work and be TONS of fun - yet video/computer game developers insist on reinventing the wheel when it comes to successful gameplay dynamics. *sigh*
Autoduel from Origin (when it was good) was a great game, but was maybe 1% of Car Wars. I had high hopes for Auto Assault... oh well.
